That is a huge accomplishment for the doctors. I didnt think we (medically) were at a place to be able to do this. Im glad she is able to function normally again. Good story. Its just too bad she was shot to begin with.

Very tragic. It's amazing what doctors can do nowadays and even more amazing what people can actually live thru.

how did her face get shot off to begin with?

Hopefully she grows into this a little better as time moves on, because the new face seems too large for her head.

That is a pretty miraculous before and after... honestly besides the excess skin (which they plan to remove) she looks very normal.

Horrendous what she went through, but amazing that a surgery like this could happen. I remember hearing about the surgery being done, but this is the first update I've seen.

^^^^ing hell.....it's like a bad custom job.

Yes...I am commenting on how hidious that looks. It really does. I feel bad for her.

Wow! That is one of the most amazing medical related things I've seen. The before and after are simply remarkable.

didnt you read the article? her husband shot her, then shot himself. (Nut jobs out there.)

I don't know if the husband shot himself as well but he's alive and only got 7 years.

Can someone explain to me why the penalty for murder and attempted murder is different? The intent is exactly the same.

I was thinking 7 years was pretty light as well but mostly due to the severity of the damage of the crime. Her husband recked her life and 7 years is really nothing in the grand scheme of life.

I do think he shot himself as well though since the article said he then turned the gun on himself and displays the marks as well. I just don't think he did as much damage to himself somehow. It's still unclear.

Her face does look better but this kind of stuff makes me feel as though life is just so incredibly random. No religion, no real meaning, no karma. I really can't comment heavily on the subject as I didn't know her personally but who deserves what she has had to go through?

Don't let your girlfriend hear that.:lol

This guy couldn't do anything right. He had two chances to kill people with that shotgun and ^^^^ed up both times.
