IM 1:1 Bust.... Yes or No?

Ok, so I'm contemplating this A LOT lately....

As you guys already know, the IM 1:1 bust has had a LOT of complaints so far concerning quality control. I was able to find this pretty darn cheap on eBay, but my WL converted today at SS. Now, if I keep the cheaper IM bust I run the risk of it arriving to me with all the known issues and I have to wait a long time since I have to go through SEVERAL people to get it back and get a replacement back to me..... OR, I can pay the retarded amount SS is charging ($720 shipped) and have the peace of mind that I can deal directly with SS in the even I need a replacement (which will be VERY likely!!!! )

So what would you guys recommend doing? (Although the best choice would be to save my money amd not buy it AT ALL!!!)

I would go with SS. Much easier to get a replacement, and you get the Reward points.

Go the safe route-- go with SSC where you know you'll get a replacement (AND the points).

What will be funny is that the paintjob might come out even BETTER than SS's....

Another option you did not list that can work is order one through your local comic shop. They order directly from Sideshow so when it arrives at the lcs open it up there at the store. Check for pain flaws and if there are any it won't be hard at all for the lcs to send it back for a replacement plus you will get it cheaper usually at the lcs. They charge less because you are not buying direct, they get it wholesale mark it up a bit but not as mush as SS.

That's a good suggestion! But the only thing is that I'm not familiar with the San Fran area, so I don't know of any comic shops that would do this

This is what im doing.In the light of the QC problems I cancelled with Sideshow and the other day while I was in London I enquired in Forbidden Planet who are getting theirs in on February 15th.The shipping was a factor too.Now I can just turn up early in my van,check it buy it and bring it home.No trouble.

Yeah, but I'm wondering if I can get it for less than retail..... Because if they can't then I'd rather get the points from SS

Ask them how much they would charge you for one if they could get one, and then have them put themselves on the waitlist, I have done this before and its come through for me. LCS can waitlist items as well...

I would go that route Jbinny, but then some former SS sculptor by the name of Andy will make me feel so guilt ridden, that I take a hammer and destroy it despite paying a king's ransom once you factor in duties and shipping... Just so I can feel better for not supporting the recasters in Asia.
