What should I do about the Iron Man 1:1 bust?

Ask them how much they would charge you for one if they could get one, and then have them put themselves on the waitlist, I have done this before and its come through for me. LCS can waitlist items as well...

Does this only apply to the regular edition or can they waitlist exclusives too. I thought I heard LCS can order 1 exclusive per store.

Pass. You know this whole ordeal is going to be a headache and keeping that bust around will also be a headache due to it's size. The shipping box alone will eat up a ton of space.

I would not get it for a while. Sit on the idea for about a month and if you still want it later then buy the bust through SS. They made 1500 of these and at $700 bucks a pop I doubt they are flying off the shelves. Not to mention the paint and QC issues they are having with this product. The die-hard Iron Man fans and the shopaholics will keep hounding you to buy this bust till the next "Grail" comes along. Best thing to do is sit and really think it through. I know you are a perfectionist and this doesn't seem to be a product that you will likely be content with.

Just my 2 cents. :)

True, I picked mine up from CSC and was told if there's any problems to let them know. I haven't opened mine yet , but will post pics if there's a problem.

Another option you did not list that can work is order one through your local comic shop. They order directly from Sideshow so when it arrives at the lcs open it up there at the store. Check for pain flaws and if there are any it won't be hard at all for the lcs to send it back for a replacement plus you will get it cheaper usually at the lcs. They charge less because you are not buying direct, they get it wholesale mark it up a bit but not as mush as SS.

Chris, it depends on the deal you got. But I'll admit that I get impatient too, especially if I have to wait for a replacement. If you buy it from a second source and it's damaged, not only do you have to wait for the seller to receive it back, but then it has to be returned to Sideshow as well. So IF the piece is damage, you may have quite the wait on your hands.

If you buy from Sideshow, you have comfort knowing that you can return it directly to them. The "con" to that is the price and whether or not they have replacements left.

If you only saved $100, I'd cancel. If you saved more than that (and I think you mentioned a while back you did,) wait it out.

And a very good 2 cents they were! Thanks :D

I agree with you... I just hope that this won't be difficult to get my hands on later. I just have a feeling that SS will be using all their replacements since a lot of the production pieces are getting fired RIGHT back to SS to replace.

I say go with Sideshow as well if you really want it. If your still not even sure you want it, then I say wait and possibly use your money on something else. Me personally, I like Iron Man, but I'm not a big enough fan to fork out $700 plus on a collectible. Good luck with your decision man! :D

Yes, they can only order one exclusive per account, but a lot of stores always go the route of bringing in the regular versions of Sideshow products, so if you requested the exclusive they would gladly put themselves on the waitlist or order one if they are still in stock to make money off you.

I voted eBay! well I'm guessing you got it for significantly cheaper on there like $450 - $600 shipped or something... in which case - and assuming you value the piece highly enough to keep it - you get a bargain and keep a piece you really like.

Remember - there's the off chance that you get a perfectly good piece, and what some people count as paint flaws may not really be that big of a deal to some others.

That's what I was thinking as well. You're definitely taking a chance either way. I willing to bet though that most of the replacement people are going to receive will have the same issues. Unless you are willing to have this re-painted by a professional then I don't know if it's worth it. I know those imperfections would bother me in the end.

Good luck bro whatever you decide. :rock

I'd keep the cheaper one from Ebay depending on how much cheaper it is. If by chance it would have some issues you should still be able to get a replacement. More than likely it shouldn't need a replacement though.

I think I'm just gonna be patient for now and stick with the less expensive route... I'll be sure to ask the seller to TRIPLE check this for paint flaws. And if it DOES have any issues, then I'll just get my money back :D

I'm in no hurry now....

I'm not really sure how buying from Sideshow is better or more save then buying from a Sideshow dealer. I'll call the Sideshow sales person later on today to confirm, but I bet if you buy your bust (or any other Sideshow product for that matter) from official Sideshow dealer, you will have no problem asking and getting a replacement from Sideshow. I'm also sure there should be no problem getting a refund from a dealer as long as you buy from a trustworthy dealer - personally I would not be hold liable customer for any manufacturer defects and will refund or help arranging replacement for him/her.

That said, if you buy your bust from private person on Ebay, you probably indeed won't be able to get replacement from Sideshow...

P.S. There seems to be a lot of negative being said about bad Iron Man busts here, but in reality only a few people said that their bust is not perfect. Most people read those posts and comment on how afraid they are to purchase the bust becase someone got a bad one and this generated most of the bad hype for the bust...
