Re: Sideshow star wars line is dead

I'm still waiting on the Hoth main characters among all the ones that have been mentioned. Still plenty to look forward to.

Re: Sideshow star wars line is dead

The clone troopers are cool, but honestly they need to move on to some other figures. Such as Fett (hint hint).

The line is hardly dead though.

Re: Sideshow star wars line is dead

Would guys like to see a Rebel Hoth soldier set? Similiar to the Endor one?

Most definately. Unfortunately I think a big part of the community views both the RFT and the Endor troops as failures, so I think its unlikely to ever get one.

I agree, that's too bad since there a few troopers that actually had spoken lines , so they actually have familiar faces versus the Endors ( Nik Sant excluded of course) and different gear and uniforms that they would be really cool.

Maybe they should have started with the Rebel Troopers that people actually dig (Hoth), then. :dunno

(I do like the RFT myself, but the Endor Rebels were the poster boys for "Boring", imho. I could have picked up ALL THREE of them for $60 total, and still passed)

Re: Sideshow star wars line is dead

Really? Where, is that deal still available?

No... it was at one of the online retailers back before Christmas. Might have been the same week as that crazy-sick sale on the Han in Carbonite Environment (which I missed out on :( )

Re: Sideshow star wars line is dead

i hope they release every armored trooper, then well get the Republic Commando squad.

TBH I <3 star wars but I think that their early Jedi suffer from poor bodys and clothes that are not im proportion to the figures. I am happy with the trooper line because their quality (and price point) are going up and becoming on par with Hot Toys (not now but in the near future).

I am happy with Rex and their step forward in quality, if they have to go through 50 troopers for awesome ROTJ stuff like a Vader and Luke, then I cant wait!

I like most of the armored troopers too (Rex looks awesome) but I can honestly say if they went through even 1/5 of that many troopers before more core or iconic characters, I'm out. It won't likely happen, though. Thankfully.

Hopefully the next trooper we see is the Snowtrooper. :rock

Re: Sideshow star wars line is dead

I felt the Endor troops were overpriced at the time, but they are great figures, IMO, specially having them posed with a kit bashed endor han and the wicket.

I think had SSC committed to an entire Endor scene with bikerscouts and stuff the endor troops wouldn't seem so blah. but i digress.

Re: Sideshow star wars line is dead

When the Star Wars line disappears from the Sideshow site in the middle of the night like the Highlander stuff did then I'll agree its dead.

I need to refocus my Star Wars 1:6 collection, might sell off quite a bit but then I have to go look for boxes and I'm lazy so there is my paradox...

Re: Sideshow star wars line is dead

I've thought about selling stuff and then I think about how little they would sell for and then I just think they're worth more than that to me, so I keep them. Never really understood the revolving door theory of collecting. The shipping costs add up fast.

$127. :lol :rock:rock:rock

Exactly! I have an extra Qui Gon I bought for some long forgotten bash. I could sell him but he's worth more than $15 to me and that seems to be his going rate. :lol

Re: Sideshow star wars line is dead

This thread has no merit, but I'll bite. Yeah sorry man welcome to the board but you gotta get your facts straight. Jedi Luke came out just over four years ago, and we cried and I mean CRIED for armored figures after so many abstinent monks were released month after month. Armored is where it’s at as far as I am concerned, I do agree they need to wrangled in to my OT needs but the line is far from over. Pffft.

Re: Sideshow star wars line is dead

I think the 3 anonymous Endor soldiers were unappealing. Maybe if they had done a single soldier packed to the gills (will the equipment of all three troopers) it may have been more enticing. I think the same for the Hoth troopers: one fully loaded trooper to represent the batallion. The RFT figure seems to have sold just fine and it's just the one guy. People can just bash variants like they've been doing with the RFT.

Thats what I did. I love SW as a whole but I'm focusing on Clones and armored folks for the most part.
