Re: [iminime] The Bad & The Ugly - Completing 'The Cowboy'
I must say that I believe this trio is the beginning of Denny's defining era. I've seen IMINIME's work before, and they're all fantastic, but there is just something so inherently perfect about all of this. Perhaps it's just the idea that they're tackling classics, and knocking them out of the park, at that. You see the constant barrage of Super Heroes and aliens and robots everywhere, and when you see someone tackling subjects that are as iconic as TG, TB, & TU, and, even stuff reaching as far back as Oz, it really just fills you with this sense of wonder.
I believe it was on Facebook, I saw a post that said "'the real passion for perfection"'(a play on Enterbay's slogan): IMINIME," and I think that point is in no small part a reason why each of these releases seems so special: Wake said in the Pinkman thread that IMINIME's in-house talents are "no slouches," and I couldn't agree more, and it shows in every modicum of these releases.
Forgive me for ranting, but I get a big smile on my face when I even look at the pics. I see those Bandit pics, and I hear Wallach's voice in my head; that cackle. That Bounty Hunter looks as though he walks right across the screen. I don't know. Hell, I don't even know if I'll be able to have these in my collection, but I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I see the pics.
Denny's persistence and perseverance are really showing now, and, I can't wait to see what sort of things the future will bring with more growth. IMINIME's striking people's hearts and wallets hard and fast with releases that ooze quality in every sense of the word (emphasis on the wallets part ; honestly, though, I mean it when I say hearts. There's a reason these films are revered as classics, and, for a hobby that's pretty much entirely based on giving a physical representation to the memories of them, it's really something). Omar, you're doing a fantastic job of promoting this stuff, as well. The pics really give people an idea of what to expect, and, frankly, they bring the figures to life.
