Showing work is one thing, soliciting creative input is another. I'm not judging anyone for it, it just strikes me as odd.

Maybe hes just trying get as much objective critique as possible to get it right... I just wanted to make it clear to people that this was not a custom so that they dont get their hopes up and expect their own Will Smith wishlist was finally happening.

I think it is good that you did that, because, unless you are just doing something for yourself, asking for creative input usually means you intend to offer something up for sale.

The WIP looks more like Tom Walker from Homeland. I see potential here though. Think the nose is a bit pointy.

So he is asking for input from the public for a private commission that will only be made available to the person making the commission? That seems odd to me. Seems that the person putting up the money would want to give the input him/herself.

Ah, that makes much more sense. Like someone else said, the Enterbay sculpt might not be bad for reference purposes. He is a bit older of course, but you can get the basic facial structure down, and could see it from any angle easily.
