This is why I was surprised folks were deciding to sell their figures before they even arrived. Always best to take a look at it in person first.

Now I just wish InArt would hurry up and show us their Batfleck and Wonder Woman.

INART figs don’t photograph well overall, need to have them in person to really see how they’re like. They make my Hot Toys look like toys.
Same thing with JND really. Understandably it’s a much higher price range to take the gamble on, but it’s still true. But, the moment someone says that a JND statue doesn’t photograph well and needs to be seen in person to really see their beauty, they’re painted as someone just trying to cope for spending so much money. So far, everyone who’s seen my JND statues asks me why I even still collect the smaller stuff when I could just get more of those.

Or y'all just can't take good photos. :monkey3 :monkey4  :horse

My first experience with InArt was horrible. Got defective Aragorn figure with a cracked nose. I still think Superman sculpt is downgraded from the prototype but it isn't as downgraded as customer photos and reviews show. Body is also problematic but nowhere as skinny as he looks online. Personally I love him being extra tall.
you non stopped cried for months about this figure before in hand ...

Soooo while I was bitching around, he is amazing in person, still not as great as the prototype but top notch sculpt. Very good likeness. I’d say the best likeness in this scale. Doesn’t need any kind of repaint imo. He is nowhere as skinny as photos show him. Still not accurate body but ten times better proportions in person. Head isn’t big either y'all just can’t photograph him. :lol :monkey4 Inspected all three under the microscope. No defects so far, skin texture/freckle placement varies as they are hand painted so there are some variations but nothing dramatic.
Two of them are perfect,
Third one has wrinkles on the wrists, I think some massage and heating will smooth it out.
regular sculpt is 10/10 imo. Don’t care much about the angry one but it’s very nice as well.
Overall giving 9/10 bc of the body.I don’t regret spending as much money on him. I hope fourth one has no issues either. Should be there soon, for some reason got stuck for few days. Suit is well made and despite inaccurate details still looks very good. I think any Cavill/Superman fan will be pleased.
P.S. glued on curl doesn’t make any sense, it truly stands out if you look at it closely. @Justin please keep your ideas for yourself.:monkey4
I’m really glad that you like your figure(s)!!!

I hope that everyone who was on the fence but ultimately pulled the trigger on this guy is happy with the product in-hand.

Despite the small inaccuracies on this guy, I think this is a fantastic 1/6 scale Superman figure and more likely than not the last I will buy.

This phenomenon is as old as 1/6 collecting. Someone posted the timeline for a 1/6 figure release years ago.

But essentially cancellation based on first in hand crappy phone pics is a real thing. Next stage is getting the figure home and comments are then, this looks amazing "in hand".

Yeah I really need to see Batfleck as well !! Hot Toys have their 2.0 out to order, InArt better hurry up otherwise they'll potentially lose customers.

I would say this is the case with nearly every statue I've owned.

If you take 2 figures that are purported to be great, why would one ''not photograph well'' while the other photographs just fine? If this is a real phenomenon I don't understand it.

I cried bc I wanted it to be good. I still think it's a downgrade from the prototype sculpt, but as I said not as downgraded as photos show it. Paint is very soft and delicate so photos don't capture it well. In person sculpt is still amazing and likeness is very strong. I still wish body was chonkier tho.

Hot Toys Superman and InArt Superman both look good. Hot Toys head photographs well, InArt not as good.
In person, InArt looks more like a real person and with subtle detail. HT looks less like a real person with more pronounced details.

Lighting, camera, post-processing and distance will all add to this in one way or another.
