You do you. The cape color doesn’t match the boots in any reference images and even in post. And people in the community have shown they can achieve the darker hues like it appears in the film via either photo-editing or lighting set ups, just like the professionals do.

That’s fine. “You do you” as well. You’re more than welcome to believe the bts photos. I don’t say that condescendingly btw. It makes sense if you haven’t seen it in person to only take what you can see via secondary imagery like online photos as more fact than anything I’m saying.

I’ve been fortunate enough to see all of Cavill’s hero suits in person on multiple occasions and actually handle the real BvS cape. I know what I’m talking about when it comes to his suits. But hey, I’m just a guy on the internet you don’t know, so believe what you want :duff

Yeah I’d be curious what mods he did to the body. They look very subtle so it’s hard to pin down. Looks like he added some lats, crotch and thigh mass?

As for the modded color, I thinks it’s bang on minus the artificial shading, which kind of messes with the suit color’s saturation in places. But I get why it’s done, and this is one of the more subtle attempts at it I’ve seen.

Buy going that dark with the suit repaint, you can see why he went darker with the skin tones. Supes would look straight up like a goth boy with his original skin tones e and that dark suit.

He posted more pics tonight.

I like the darker blue here and the body modifications but the shading is definitely overdone. Not to mention the repaint that’s going on the sculpt is making the likeness worse.

Haven’t seen any repaint for this sculpt that’s improved it, like I’ve seen for Aragorn. The softer tone of the stock paint lends itself far better to the likeness than these overly sickly and dark shaded looking repaints. They all make him look like he hasn’t slept for days.

I see he’s widened the shoulders subtly. But looking closely it appears he’s somehow used the original shoulder/chrome sections to do so. Not, as I would have thought, using modeling clay or similar. You can see in the closeup the black gap between shoulder and pectoral is larger now, but the shoulder shape itself is unchanged. Perhaps he found a way to pull the shoulders further away from the body? Or was he able to somehow separate the shoulder to do so? In pics of the unsuited body, it appears the shoulders are all one piece so it’s a mystery to me.

It's a gorgeous suit for sure. My eye is continually drawn to it on the shelf despite the slightly drab colours.

Noticed that as well. Would love to know how he did it. I'd be all over widening the shoulders out if you can somehow keep the original chrome intact without having to sculpt over it and repaint. Maybe he somehow managed to pop it out of the socket and then extend the joint?

I’ve never seen the suit in real life, and know BTS photos can certainly not be trusted to be an accurate portrayal of color or brightness. But I do love its onscreen appearance which is objectively darker and less saturated than what InArt gave us. I may take a crack at a slightly more muted semi transparent color coat to get there.

I’ve actually used a chrome vinyl in the past instead of paint to get the best “mirror finish” result. It’s not perfect, but once the suit is on it blends in seamlessly. You can see where I’ve used it all over the body below.

It’s called Hasehawa Mirror finish. And being vinyl, it’s flexible enough to stretch smooth over plastic.

I had originally planned to do the same as I did to my HT Supers, and just sculpt, vinyl, and paint in the blacks.

I can appreciate the mods done to the body.

Don’t agree with making the suit darker.

And the repaint of the portrait…yeah I’m gonna have to go with a no on that as well.
Yeah I absolutely love what he did with the body, it looks amazing! I would say it perfectly represents what I was hoping to see from the final version of this figure. That said out of the box the body looks pretty damn good and isn’t skinny as I was afraid it may come out.

Although I think his costume should be a little darker for BvS as others have mentioned, it is actually darker than it appeared in the initial prototype photos so I am fine with the color.

So I am tempted to try the body modifications above but I may be out of my depth on such an endeavor.
