For me it's a 8.5-9/10
The body looks much better with the shoulder mod but the lower half is still too small.

I’ve had a go at making the cape sit more flush on is traps with water treatment…it as flattened it a bit but not as good as the custom capes.
I’m going stick with stock cape it is ok for me.

Do you apply the water to the cape while he's wearing it or take it off first?

Probably a dumb question but I keep seeing the water treatment mentioned without a full explanation of how it works.

I can't speak for anyone else but when I do it, it's on. The water will make it adjustable and heavier and help it sit flatter. It should dry closer to that position.

According to @Aybaig , the sculpt HT outsourced is extremely close to IA’s…so expect a similar figure, but with a more waxy portrait, as all HT portraits do…

The only ball they can drop is if their Cavillman will come with a 2nd portrait.

Gotta remember, their Artisan Joker came with ONE portrait, and it took HT about 4 Cavillman releases to finally offer the often requested angry/heat vision. And we all know how that abomination turned out.

I think HT’s will have its merits over INART’s. The costuming details will be more accurate. I know for a fact that arm glyphs will be higher where they should be and the piping on the sides will go outwards. And while they’ll use the same “airbrushed” paint apps/techniques (like every single HT that’s come before), the base likeness will probably be stronger.

I’m confident that the only advantages with INART’s will be the overall realism, tailoring and natural proportions. Hot Toys always look more toy-ish even with their best figures.

Just not feeling it. Even the comparison to the actor shows just how off the artisan figure is.

Amongst Jack, you also have Kenobi’s Obi wan, effin Michael Myers inspired Bruce Wayne wearing a Bale mask, still not sold on their Batfleck 2.0 and a few more I can’t think of at the moment.

In short , I’m expecting a decent Cavillman produced by HT. But as a full package…well, I won’t be holding my breath

Well you know I’m a cynic of Hot Toys. But I can’t take away that when they do get a likeness right, they nail it. Yes, it’s few and far between, even post INART in the game. All I’m saying is that they know they need to one-up INART here with Cavillman and I bet they will when it comes to certain things, namely the portrait strength of likeness and costuming accuracy. Overall, I’m sure the general public will naturally gravitate towards the Hot Toys offering. I hope to be proven wrong here, but time will tell. Me personally, I love INART BvS Superman and won’t replace it for the incoming Hot Toys 2.0, for the record.

And Idk, I think DX39 is closer to the source. The only reason why it appears off is the cloudy sclera. I honestly believe that if the sclera was whiter, the eyes would look spot on to the source. It’s why I’ve seen some say he looks Asian, but the squintier eyes are pretty close and more natural looking now, imo.

Obviously, most HT offerings in recent times aren’t good even if people chalk them up to be, so I’m with you there lol

I’ve made no secret about not liking the people running the company, sure. And seeing as they’ve been doing this for far longer than any other company, yeah, I’m way more critical of them.

But when the artists come out with good stuff I do give them credit. Figures like EP2 Anakin, Mando Luke, Kenobi Vader and a few others I can’t think of at the moment, are legitimately amazing and gives you a sense of what HT can do when the company gives a ****.

Lol and that ‘looks Asian’ is soooo appropriate here. I’m Asian, hearing that phrase would occasionally irk me, but with this Jack i can’t help myself saying “he looks Asian…WTF?”

It’s funny cause I’m Hispanic, and JND Kojun Works Harry looks like Hispanic to me lol.

And yeah I’ve seen a few people say DX39 “looks Asian” so I’m just relaying that (didn’t mean to offend with that..), but idk I think the eyes are more natural now. I do like the intensity of DX15 tho. But I’m sure with rolling the eyes with the new one, you’d be able to achieve that feel too.

It’s just given their past history, I don’t have much confidence in their final product of Superman.

Yeah we’re all talking out of our ass*s here. I just think HT will get those certain things I mentioned better. They won’t eff up the glyph or piping details. They’ll probably also do a darker colored suit and cape too.
