This is exactly what I've been saying all along. This is the way it's supposed to be done which is just darkening the suit to be more accurate and letting the chrome body do the rest just like the real deal.

Customizers have been doing it wrong since the HT figures by just airbrushing and shading the suit while it's still on the body. It not only gunks up the suit but also eliminates the natural shine that the silver/chromed underbody gives.

You're absolutely right. I think because maybe these customizers are painting the suit on the figure body with an airbrush, there killing all the chrome effect underneath, so they try to make up for it with shading. Or, in Hot Toys case, the suit isn’t transparent enough so shading is used to enhance the effect. Either way, it’s not ideal. The repaint above is perfect. Not sure how they did it though. The paint from an airbrush is atomized to such small particles it would easily pass through this semi shear suit and land on the chrome below. So they must have use something between the suit and body to keep it from bleeding through, or painted the suit independent of the body.

BvS had the best suits in any superhero movie. WW and Superman still had nice suits in ZSJL but sadly it was all downhill for Batman culminating in that abomination he wore in The Flash.

I agree on all points. Plus the lighting on JL made Superman’s suit look terrible. BvS was the high point.

What I've learned from years of collecting, it's not worth double dipping unless you plan to display both in different ways. Especially with 1/6 when it gets improved on eventually.

I can see this for a slightly better price and contemplated double dipping which I have a rule not to DD period, so this would have to be special for me to break the rule. Another reason is I noticed a super minor QC issue but if I DD'd, there's no way to know if that would also have another / same QC issue haha.

Yeah, you won't know if the other copy is free from issues.

The unnoticable minor QCs don't bother me anymore. Even what others might see as a blemish or subtle paint issue on the sculpt, just flies by me. It's not worth the hassle unless it's something very noticeable or broken outright. I've had headsculpts from inart that have the blutac and I just laughed at it.

Agreed. I’d never buy a figure just to sit in a box. I bought a second Cavil for possible spare parts before modding my first one. Turned out I didn’t need any, so no sense keeping him.

This is what I did for the HT figures. Just took the suit off and repainted the blue with watery thinned acrylic paints so that it worked more like a dye than paint. Though, I'd think it's a bit more difficult for the InArt figure since the boots are glued in place. You'd have to be really careful as to not tear the suit when removing at those points I'm sure.
