I think if I wanted to splurge and upgrade the stock figure I’d go with the Bshow body mod and repaint, ask them to darken the groin area and also get the Unreal cape (Lucky said he might open a new run). I’d keep the stock sculpt. That would yield a great figure that’s more screen accurate imo

I quite like this. I'd just do the calves too.

The groin isn't supposed to have and shine from under the mesh. The shine coming through the suit is supposed to look like his muscles are steel (man of steel) showing through the suit.

Having spent quite a while working on a custom figure and investigating accuracies I'm very sensitive to it. I realize this is a me thing.
I get it. And I'd just like to take this opportunity to let you know, you have THE BEST and most impressive Snyderverse collection I've ever seen.

Super jealous!

Do we still think HT is gonna release their 2.0 Cavill or no? I kinda think it's been shelved.
I think it’s happening. They’re just studying every single detail on the INART figure and furiously and endlessly slaving away to make sure it beats INART’s in every possible way. That’s why it’s taking a while lol

Ha! Thank you

I was about to cancel this figure, or just sell it on without opening when it came since I really wanted a proper good MOS or ZSJL figure. I think both are light years away so I decided to keep the BVS and open it. To my surprise, I found it fantastic in hand. From a lot of photos and even videos I have seen of the sculpt, it wasn't really hitting me but in hand, wow, a fantastic sculpt!

I think it will come eventually because they doing Batman 2.0 but who knows with HT, I'm surprised they didn't announce it simultaneously
Kinda feel like the positive reaction to Inarts Supes basically left them like, "why bother with this right now?" and they're going to immediately direct their attention to the new Superman film.

While I think HT will indeed release it, I'm a little doubtful it's gonna happen any time soon.

They might also be adjusting it based on what they saw with this figures release. Same way they upgraded their Batman (2022) figure when they saw INART's sculpt. We already know they're going through a custom artist for the sculpt so it could also be coming down to getting likeness approval from WB.

Really hard to say with Hot Toys though. They could have simply canned it. Even if they announce theirs within the next few months, release won't be until 2027 at the earliest.

Yeah, I just do not believe it's gonna see the light of day anytime soon. Like, not an announcement, a tease or even a hint.

Hope I'm wrong but nothing suggests they're gonna go forward with this figure imo. It's certainly not a difficult one to produce by any means.

A custom artist is very old news regarding this thing.

Hot Toys revels in dangling things above us, treating us like idiots and the suckers that we are. In that sense, I don’t blame them for how they operate but it always rubs me the wrong way.

I think a lot of the photos we see here are from camera phones. What I've noticed is that the camera washes out the details that can only be seen in-hand.

Camera phones and bad lighting.

This sculpt really does better in natural lighting than pure white LEDs. Weirdly enough, I notice that a lot with Henry Cavill sculpts like the Witcher Geralts. They look more like him outside the detolf than in it.

A HT 2.0 will surely have to be significantly bigger and bulkier than InArt's to not look ridiculous next to their 2.0 Batman.

If HT goes stupid with the arms and thighs again, no head sculpt, no matter how good, will get me to buy it.

This echoes back to why I doubt theirs is happening. They've revisited this character multiple times already with absolutely zero concern for any semblance of accuracy.

It's not a version of the character they're convinced is a heavy hitter. So they don't really give a ****.

To be honest I'm more interested in a Reeve Superman + Clark Kent from InArt. That's the one to wait for imo.
Should be solid. Hard for me to get excited by anything from them right now tho, 2027 isn't something I'm holding my breath for.

Way more things that deserve my attention between now and then.
