Really excited for this! Grabbed one using Willfox code (WILL).

Also have the CE version on order with William Wang but it’s taking forever to get here! This game is awesome, and it would be great if InArt dived into more video game licenses.
Will is having an interview with Inart tomorrow, good time to let them know there is a demand for 1/6 game characters. I believe at the live stream in December. Resident Evil and Elden Ring got mentioned as an area of interest, but not sure if that'd be for Inart or Morfig.

If you're in the EU or any place with high VAT/taxes/custom fees, just buy with Kit, your figure will arrive fast, tax free and spare you of any headaches you could run into with customs.

Since there seems to be no reply from anyone from UK purchasing directly regarding additional duty taxes, I wrote an email to INART asking if they can declare low value and this is their reply.

Sounds promising.

Seems to be scheduled right after WillFox’s live interview with InArt at 7:30pm EST.

I thought I read that someone from the UK who ordered the Dune Paul directly from InArt didn’t have to pay any additional taxes. Might be worth going into that thread and asking people there.

Good call! I’d love for them to look at the PlayStation license.

I think the only diecast part I want is the feet. Or at least the interior of the feet is die cast. That would make stabilizing the figure so much easier compared to plastic feet.

Por Toys/ Artisan Studio have one upcoming release that uses diecast feet which allows for more stability during posing. Not sure if InArt will attempt to do that.

Anybody received an Refund from Inart? Not sure what's going on.

Hello, due to a technical error. Your order was taken in THB. Your deposit will be refunded. Please check your email to re-order with a discount.

I think this was a glitch for people who ordered too early, where payments were processed in Thai baht instead of USD before InArt fixed their website

Got the same thing, but actually works out better as you can use the code that they gave you on the deposit AND the final invoice.

Glad they worked that out for everybody, especially before their live streams tonight. They knew chat would be hijacked by this problem if they didn’t address it beforehand.

Did they issue a discount code for people affected by this?

Main takeaways from the InArt livestream re: Wukong:
  • Molds are all pretty much finished, so they expect production to go very smoothly
  • All promotional photography was taken with a factory made model, not a 3D-printed, hand-painted prototype. The finished product will look extremely close to the promo photos.
  • Confirmed that there is nothing die-cast, armor is fully ABS/PVC
    • Reason is to allow for more detail/better coloring (over 1200 color points iirc), less heavy, easier to maintain for newer collectors entering from the video game world, less expensive than full die-cast
    • Full die-cast would also have limited the edition size and they didn't want to have a limited release
  • He is fully clothed underneath and the armor can be completely removed to reveal his underclothes (but warned it might be hard to put it all back on) - they'll release photos of what his underclothes look like after CNY
  • Ropes on the arm are real string, but ropes on the front of the armor are sculpted - this is because the size of the rope needed would be thinner than a toothpick and would most likely break during transit
  • Headpiece is magnetic, there's a little chunk of hair that comes out to reveal the magnet for the headpiece
  • The feathers in the headpiece are not wired (because they'd be too thick for the details they wanted). However, the ABS can be heated and reposed
  • Headsculpt is new and different from the Collector's Edition sculpt - Great Sage expression is more serious
  • Base does not use any magnets - there is a metal crotch grabber that is height adjustable that can slot into the base. There is also another removable rock that can be taken out to insert the staff
    • Reason for no magnets is due to the heavy weight of the figure not holding up stably with magnets
  • Sales in China are doing very well, but sales in the west are lagging behind expectations (pls preorder 🥺)
  • Zhu Bajie is the next planned figure in 1/6 scale in 2025, more Wukong figures are being considered but depends on the reception of the first two. A female character is also planned.
  • They seemed extremely confident they'll hit their Q4 2025 timeline, maybe even delivering early
  • Small tweaks (nothing major) are still being planned and they'll update customers on what they've adjusted

They said they're looking to do a female character as well (most likely Ping Ping) and maybe one other variation of Wukong depending on demand. The figure is selling extremely well in China atm with US sales being a bit behind.

The figure on stream is also a manufactured color matched version. Meaning this is pretty close to the final production version. This isn't the one their team of artist worked on. All of the molds are already done. They said shipping might happen even earlier than expected. Small improvements are planned for the figure.

Thank you so much for the summaries, I ordered 2 to make up for the poor sales 😪

Extremely excited for Bajie. I hope his head is rooted but also that it doesn’t make him really exclusive

sales are low outside of China? With how phenomenal the game sold in China, I’m more than positive sales of InArt’s figure will make up for the lack of sales in western countries 😂.

That being said…

Am i gonna have to purchase a 3rd figure???

Dammit!!

It's not that surprising this figure is selling below expectations in the west. I think the game's overall reputation in the west is commensurate with its metacritic score. Good, but not great. They probably saw a lot of genuine fervor for the Collection Edition figure that hasn't translated to this figure because people thought they'd like the game more than did.

poor sales? estimate over 10000 set or more preordered on first day.INART better dont f it up on the details. since INART always promote “details” .bought 3 set. guess my predicted price is quite close(2500rmb).
