Do people really want a trio of teenagers in mid 2000s clothes that look like they were picked by their mom from American Eagle?

Is that REALLY what a company that's capable of the figure equivalent of photorealism is best suited for?

Is that really worth $500 a figure? $1500 for people that look like my highschool wardrobe?

If you'd put them in Hogwarts garb, or quidditch attire...but in the barbie clothing accessory pack?

I'm also THOROUGHLY confused on canning/delaying things like Terminator or the rest of the fellowship, but we're getting *checks notes* Paul Atreides'...mom...?

That's the thing that will recoup licensing, R&D, and manpower? Is there a secret sect of people obsessed with Jessica or something I haven't heard about?

It reminds me of NECA insisting that a new T1 Kyle Reese and Sarah wouldn't sell because they're civilians figures, and yet they've just pumped out people in Jeans/Tshirts/Jackets from far more obscures licenses for years now.

I’m not really into Dune but as a Rebecca Ferguson fan, I’d definitely buy a figure of Paul Atreides' mom. I collect both for the character and(or) actor attached.

Might start collecting Dune once InArt releases the sequel figures with Zendaya and Paul 2.0.

As for the YA/teenage Harry Potter characters, I bought them before but those were at Asmus prices.

Not sure I’d double dip at InArt prices unless they really nail the head sculpts - Asmus sculpts are subpar.

The Michael Jackson look they're doing is Smooth Criminal, which is one of his most popular looks and something a lot of collectors (myself included) would probably pick up if they're a fan. Also, they do have a world wide license for Jackson also, so that's probably influencing their decision making. Sirius Black and Jessica Atreides are unexpected choices.
Is it true InArt can only produce MJ in his live concert outfits?

Might be misremembering but I thought I read or saw an interview about that before.

Would like to see MJ in his Billie Jean tux outfit from the music video.

I think the deal was they were required to start with a concert look, then second could be a video look that hadn't been done yet. If memory serves.

I think Jon is an amiable guy, but his interviews are always pretty hollow. I never glean much information from them. He often refuses to answer or talks about something else. Sometimes I wonder why InArt doesn't just release statements about upcoming plans instead of sending someone like Jon to give jarbled answers to questions.

There’s radio silence from Hot Toys and on the opposite end of the spectrum is JazzInc with their transparency (perhaps too much).

InArt seems to be somewhere in the middle of that spectrum of giving access to the collectors.

I enjoy John’s interviews and he seems to be knowledgeable and has a passion for the industry. But I agree the responses are often boilerplate and he often resorts to let me check with management/Viper and get back to you but he never followups after the interview.

But I don’t envy anyone in a PR type role, tough job. it’s a delicate balance between getting the word out without revealing too much (since so much is tied to unresolved behind the scenes legal, licensing, actor approval, etc. issues).

Because of INART and some Hot Toys figures, I’ll hopefully be closing in on some WB license displays I’ve been working on for a while now 😍. Some of them are potentials if INART ends up making certain figures.

Stoked man. Anyway, have a good night y’all!

I hope someone asks about Reeve the next time John is interviewed. Always seems to be ignored at these events in Asia.

The wait for the preorder has been excruciating. On the other hand it's good they are taking their time to perfect things after the underwhelming prototype.

All the important info from the InArt/MorFig Q&A that took place at the Tokyo Event:
  • Terminator not coming any time soon, they'd like to get more experience before tackling the license.
  • Jessica Atreides is coming and should be out next year.
  • Back to the Future and Top Gun licenses not being considered at the moment.
  • Joker 2 figures not being considered.
  • 1/6 and 1/12 figures from The Dark Knight will be on pre-order this year; The 1/12 price should be around $60 based on Japanese pricing.
  • Sam and Frodo from Fellowship of the Ring seem to be the next and likely final LoTR figures, as sadly other characters from the franchise are not being considered at the moment.
  • Other styles for Michael Jackson being considered.
  • They have 15 products scheduled for 2025.
  • They will improve Bale's likeness on the 1/12 Dark Knight figure; Joker and Bane will also be coming in 1/12; Vehicles not being considered.
  • More 1/12 Dark Knight: Metal figures will be made.
  • There will be 1/6 Matrix figures.
  • John Wick not being considered.
  • Adult Harry Potter version is coming in 2026.
  • Zendaya's Chani will likely be coming in 2026.
  • Gandalf the White might yet be made, Frodo and Sam are set to release in 2026.
  • InArt has plans to release a new Heath Ledger Joker using all the experience they've gained since entering the 1/6 market.
  • Ben Affleck's Batman and Gadot's Wonder Woman will likely go up for pre-order this year, but other members of the Justice League are not being considered at the moment.
  • Game of Thrones Daenerys is still planned, will likely release in 2026.
  • The Walking Dead figures are also scheduled to release in 2026.
  • 1/6 and 1/12 figures of Black Myth Wukong will go up for pre-order this year.
  • Michael Jackson "Smooth Criminal" version will be up for pre-order this year.
  • 1/6 and 1/12 figures of Bruce Lee may go up for pre-order this year.
  • Disney's Marvel and Star Wars are not being considered. (Everyone knew that)
  • For Harry Potter, Snape and Malfoy will likely go up for pre-order this year, Sirius Black next year.
  • It seems like only Neo will be made for the Matrix license as other characters are not currently being considered.
  • Other Keanu Reeves films not being considered.
- $60 for TDK Batman would be amazing. I've never bought any Nolanverse Batman figures because I haven't been too impressed with any of the results but I may look closely into this.
- Sad to hear about the LotR.
- Dark Knight: Metal figures are looking really good.
- Please stop with the Ledger Joker.
- BvS Batman and Wonder Woman up for pre-order this year is great to hear. Hopefully it happens. Not too sad about the other Justice League members. I've only been the most interested in getting the Trinity in 1/6. Maybe in 1/12 though.
- Conflicted about this. Rick looked amazing in person but I don't really plan on collecting past him.

Inart said in interviews they will never re-release a figure, making sure the ones they do release are the best they can be in the first place. Do they mean re-releases or is it new versions of all previous figures?

To those saying you're glad that you never ordered Legolas. This could be why they aren't finishing the fellowship.
There has to be a line somewhere. At the end of the day they raised prices a lot higher on Legolas than people were comfortable with and it cost them a lot of sales. That's a business problem, not a collector problem.

Kit had said Aragorn and Gandalf were at the top of InArt sales through him, and he sold a LOT of them. Gandalf nearly did him in. The interest is there. But there comes a point where you just can't buy a figure in good conscience past a certain price.

You have me ignored, but I’ll keep asking the forum who can provide some insight. What’s the actual base price of Legolas? Or his direct price vs other INART figures direct prices? The $550 price tag was taken from OneSixthKit’s site, and we all know he adds his own premiums/mark ups.

Either way, was OSK’s $550 even egregious? Gandalf off OSK was $515 and Legolas has rooted hair, braids, perhaps the labor rates are higher due to the intricate nature of working on this specific character design (?)

Aragorn at $480 was the sweet spot, imo. A comfortable price for a rooted figure including Kit’s markup and overseas shipping accounted for. So Legolas was $70 more and $35 more than Gandalf. Yes, I know the Legolas set should’ve included the Mirkwood weaponry. Was that the deal breaker?

He mentioned in interviews that they would only do 2.0s if they feel it’s warranted with good enough improvements that they can bring compared to the 1.0. He said they most likely won’t be do straight re-releases, which this isn’t. It’s a 2.0. They’re not reusing the same sculpt and outfit from the first release.

Thought that description was for Joker, since it's under the same bullet. Think they are using the same term for 2.0 and re-release.

I paid like $445 shipped for legolas because of popcultcha. Even now he's around $475 shipped for US buyers from pop.
