I'll be curious what you'll say when your $500+ rooted figure requires an "extra" to be complete that can only be obtained by purchasing an additional "extras set" for $150.

I say bring it on. I prefer a straight accessories set to all this figure reissue sneaking around.

Yup, I fear where "accessory packs" can lead in terms of price. Will InArt included unnecessary items to make it worth it to them to even produce therefore the price of those packs increase too?

I don’t know I can see both sides as far as accessories packs. I mean on the one hand I like the idea of them in some cases when they’re warranted. In a case like this though, they really couldn’t just include the cloak?

The figure is already priced high enough as is and that’s a fairly small accessory that I wouldn’t think would add that much cost. Also what other accessories are there to really add to the pack?

Also the question becomes are they just going to leave things out on a regular basis and then offer them later on regularly or is this a one off occurrence?

Largely it’ll come down to cost. If the cloak is a reasonable price and there are other good accessories l then sure. If it’s another excuse to squeeze an exorbitant amount from collectors I’m not sure how to feel.

I’d say there’s no way in hell I’d buy accessory sets but I also said there’s no way in hell I’d buy a 500 dollar Aragorn but here I am.

Sounds a lot like me. . . and I am pretty sure I will eventually cave. I mean it is LOTRs. . .

If it’s just the black cloak, it’ll probably cost less than a Jaxun cape so I’ll say $50 tops. That’s the sort of price that will make people think hard if they really do need it after all and many may realise that it’s probably not the best display option to hide all the intricate wonders of his outfit, hair and face under a dirty piece of crusty fabric.

If InArt are still only able to use Fellowship specific accessories, the most we could get for a fully complete FOTR Aragorn would be the Weathertop torch (led lit perhaps,) a couple of second breakfast apples, kingsfoil, a torn, battle-worn undershirt and wound-wrap for post Amon Hen… That’s really all you could ask for.

The absence of the Ranger cloak is really the only thing stopping us from creating every Aragorn look (minus Rivendell) from Felowship so IA dropped the ball a bit by neglecting it.
I’d like to think that they won’t be considering 2.0s for at least a decade so the intent should be to produce definitive, all encompassing representations of whichever character they’re tackling.

The ranger cloak is what I really wanted from this set. I see it as Aragorn before the events in Fellowship doing his own thing, works well for me as I don't plan on going all in on the group... yet.

So long as 'Self supporting' doesn't mean the cloak will only be avalable to mainland China peeps ordering directly from InArt, I'd say it seems like this is just being added to the set. Finding this statement in Chinese and getting it correctly translated would help clear things up.

Everything looks as it should be now. Even the base is beautiful and looks like old stone. Joker's tall, purple podium is a bit corny and it looks like they moved away from that design instantly, favouring this lower profile, scenery type base which I'm all for.

Love the scabbard straps. Love the duster sleeve update. I'm amazed they went all out for that. Even the belt buckle is accurately ornately engraved. I would have settled just for the correct shape but they went the extra mile. We're looking at a God-tier figure now. I love (the potential of) this company.

The only possible reason I have to hold onto my Asmus Slim Aragorn now would be to put the ranger cloak on him.
