The stock work on the sideshow head was (and is) not doing it any favors, but trust me, there were decent repaints of it that actually showed the Viggo likeness. We're talking about customs from 2009 however, so many of you might have no clue what I'm referring to which is fine.

NOW that someone finally got Viggo right, it makes all previous efforts somewhat laughable in hindsight.

I really want to feel that way about Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. Craig as Bond as well.

Agreed. Man, just looking over my PO for the HT Mark 3 at $455 before shipping and taxes. Just doesn't even feel as good a value compared to the premium/rooted Aragorn for a few bucks more at $480 with shipping included and no tax

I think a lot of the problem with Hot Toys prices isn't just them being greedy/cocky, but also them having to pay more for the licenses on Disney properties. It's no secret that virtually everything under the Disney umbrella got more expensive under Chapek, but even at the end of Iger's first tenure, they were acquiring and launching so much that they were raising prices to help recoup costs.

I do absolutely think Hot Toys knew they were the best in the biz, unchallenged by all in quality except perhaps Damtoys, and that certainly led to their price gouging in some capacity. But I also think they've probably had to shell out more money for the licenses which likely doesn't help.

Even with these figures - I'm sure the Star Wars/Marvel licenses go for significantly more money than anything Warner Bros has these days.

Although we're all exhilarated and snickering about all those passed Aragorns -- most of which I do own myself -- it's probably considered "mean" to attack them. Like the new pretty girl is making all the old hot chicks look bad.

If I saw this Asmus Sculpt out without knowing who it was supposed to be I'd never guess Viggo/Aragorn. I'd probably go with the guy who played Rollo in Vikings lol...

They're never good with likeness. Heck, they couldn't even make an accurate 1/6 Ringwraith!! People are complaining about the costume. Yep, the ragged black cloth.. somehow they still managed to made it wrong.


This InArt Aragorn.. if they can make it exactly as pictured, or at least very similar to it.. will be the best gift to 1/6 LOTR collectors.

Sure, but if any, shows how long 1/6 collecting has gone in just a few years. It's honestly impressive.
