I have some figures with real hair. Some I've haired myself. Honestly there's not much upkeep but I don't move around on my figures too much. I usually find a pose I like and it'll stay that way for a good while. But even when I do repose, the futzing is very minimal to get to where I'm happy with it.

But as you've mentioned if this isn't a line or franchise you normally collect I don't know if you'd really need to go all in or even start. I feel like the passion for this level of quality should reflect the passion you have for the subject matter.

But also. If you do buy and decide its not your thing you'll have absolutely no problem selling and making a profit off it once these have sold out.

Well since I'd be going with sculpted I have until February 3rd to come to a decision. I allowed that latest Gandalf preorder window to come and go so I guess I would be doing as a few people said - just having the trio of Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli........and Borom- NO, DAMMIT!!!

Lord of the Rings is right up there to the OT Star Wars for me. I might even dare say I find the Rings Trilogy better quality cinema.
So having a full Quality Fellowship and the addition of Gollum/Smeagol would be my ideal.

If I had to choose between a few I agree Aragorn, Gandalf, Legolas and Frodo would be something I could live with.

Though if I had to choose only ONE character to represent Tolkiens Universe it would be Gandalf the Grey. Yes I would choose InArts Gandalf over Aragorn.

But I am really curious how far InArt will go with this. If we see more or who will be next. If they announce Gimli or even Frodo I think it may be safe to say the full Fellowship will be made.

The rooted hair and sculpt are out of this world.

But for me it's the new articulated body and the clothing, the way it sits and drapes on a body that looks real with natural weight and a way that a human normally holds themselves.

If that sculpt were on a Hot Toys body it would look really good, but that sculpt on their body with tailoring together is what makes this look like a small Aragorn.

This is a big improvement, but IMO it's not THE portrait. A bit soft eyed of an expression. I'm actually happy if others are happy, so not &^%$ for the heck of it. I'm less invested, as suppose if I had to pick ONE character to represent Middle Earth, it would be Gandalf. Sauron maybe, tho I don't usually do baddies. Or Bilbo.

On the other hand, InART has successfully managed to dodge the Cro Magnon effect. Apologies to anyone who owns that older high end 1/3 King Aragorn....


This company also managed to produce a chubby Jack Sparrow, way back. Things have come a long way.

Unfortunately Cinemaquettes human likenesses were all terrible. They really nailed creature designs though. Gill Man and Jungle Hunter Predator specifically. But I literally chuckled to myself when they revealed Aragorn. Indy and Sparrow. Dunno how anyone thought any of those were worth the price they were asking.

Agreed, with Joker there's more room for error or artistic interpretation given the face is covered in makeup. I still reckon they nailed their Joker sculpt but it just isn't as impressive as nailing a figure whose likeness has eluded sculptors for years. If this sculpt is not a 10/10 then what is?

As far as I know, for me, it doesn't exist yet. I'd have to analyze every statue of Aragorn, and figure ever made to make my own opinion of whether it was close - maybe some of the customized ASMUS or others did.

If I didn't think it was pretty good - along with being the Ranger - I wouldn't have put an order in - at that price. For a lesser price I'd be more easy going. I sure wouldn't have bought the first proto put out, actually laughed at that one, it had such doe eyes. The emo Aragorn.

But - the costumes and accessories are great, I keep them for that and sort of a - dunno - retro appeal maybe.

If folks are happy, that's great. Now InArt has to deliver; because if so many folks are excited, the backlash over a fail will be equally energetic.

Seeing the quaility of the premium is really amazing. I was glad I preordered that version as I felt Aragorn with rooted hair was something I always wanted. Hell had I gotten the sculpted that would be enough too but come on now that rooted version is going to have some of the best photos.

I'm not even thinking about photos. More about that feeling when you walk by your collection and you see something of this quality on the shelf

I think most can agree that at one point or another (or even now) we have had some figures in the collection where you question if you even really wanted it in the first place, but then there are others that make you so happy that you have one, regardless of what you spent on it. This will be the latter, I'm sure.

Very true, this is such a breathtaking figure.
Not only a great representation of Aragorn, but as many have said here, probably one of the best 1/6 figure to date.

Maybe some people are just nitpicking at this point, or just a personal taste maybe? some people can spot a good likeness, and some just don't have that.. because as you said, nothin else has ever come close to this.

I imagine the day, if InArt made the whole fellowship, to have them all displayed side by side.. and holding them and posing them while rewatching the movie..
My wallet will suffer, but my eyes and heart will feel the ultimate joy.

That face sculpt with its details, the hair and everything looks ... way too good.
That makes even some Hot Toys products look like detailed barbie dolls.

BUT as always with these pre order photos and videos - i dont trust them.
Literally like 90% of all these preview shots by all companies are way better than the actual finished product
because they are going all in on rendered models or on single custom made versions which they can never produce as a mass product.

If this is really how the real product is gonna look like - hats off, thats easily in like the Top 3-5 best sculpts of all time
but yeah, i dont trust these pr campaigns. I was disappointed so many times already, i cant get hyped anymore.

Not really seeing the "10 year younger" look at all but either way, I can't imagine we'll see a better sculpt for a VERY long time. Can't really see anything at all to complain about with this one.

At best, I would say that ACI was probably the second best in attempting at his likeness.
