Disney whiteboard session...

Mangold neither mentioned Mutt by name nor showed a picture of him in order to allow people to strike KOTCS entirely from their personal head canon and just pretend that Indy's son was someone else. My own son still hasn't watched KOTCS and he didn't feel like he has missed out on any part of the story.
I hate that Indy's discussion of his son actually had me feeling really emotional about his loss. Sure Ford is fantastic in the scene, but how dare they make me feel something about that character!! :lol

Just like those annoying people complaining that TOD is insensitive for showing the south asian indian culture eating those animals.

Oh STFU with that nonsense lol

Of course they don’t eat that BUT a CULT CAN eat like that if they want too they do everything else crazy but eating protein is now too much lol!

Bottom line every culture in existence has done dumb **** against another culture full stop.
Just look up Aghori..... and CNN Journalist Reza Aslan. :yuck

I just view it thru the lense that Indy
loosing his son and wife
changed him.

Btw KOTCS never happened because they never mentioned Aliens did they?

That is a huge thing to not bring up. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You can go straight from Raiders to this and not miss a beat.
I'm surprised you haven't done a 'shop of Oldman Indy with the Ancient Aliens guy's hair. :lol

You could insert "leftist radicals" in your paragraph and change "anti-woke" to "anti-establishment" and it would the same 50 years ago (ironically, the era DoD is set). It's just reversed now - leftism, which many call woke, is the establishment now, mostly because many of those same young radicals are now senior in academia, politics, entertainment and news media. It's the reason we see everything from the 60s and 70s depicted with rose colored glasses - the "establishment" always controls the narrative, and the fringe (back then, underground movements, today on media like YT) fights however it can. The dynamic is starting to change as those leftist power players start to age out - its a cycle. But the rigid dogma (literally what the Chinese called "political correctness") you're pointing out is the same on either side, with minimal variance (trans activism vs radical feminism being a rare example currently.)
The assumption that both sides of this debate are the same is a false equivalence. You COULD insert those words, but the motivations, evidence, logic and history each are using in their arguments are not the same. In fact, experts who study these kinds of movements have immense data showing that one of these factions more heavily engages in rhetoric, while the other does not. I'll leave it to you to decide which one...

Also, while I agree that media is largely biased, it does not mean we cannot use scientific apparatus to discern truth. In other words, watch what you want, but make sure it matches up with the data, i.e. peer review, demonstrable, logically sound etc.

Also, being anti-PC is not really useful because it lumps in causes that actually make sense to support. If your argument was applied 70 years ago, you could have argued against desegregation since the government was calling for it, thus making it automatically PC. In effect, throwing the baby out with the bath water.

Again, the idea that both sides are the same because they fight for a cause is something you have to demonstrate. It's not enough to point at some overlap and conclude that they must be equally dogma ridden. It seems close to how fundamentalists presume that religious beliefs are an equal theory to scientific theory. Afterall, we're all just modeling what we think of the universe, right?....ummm...no

Damn I hope I didn’t ruin anything in my review for you I wasn’t expecting you in here for another 2 weeks lol

I had the same experience recently with KOTCS but DOD is actually a REAL movie when compared to the shenanigans from KOTCS.

No vine swinging in DOD everything is more realistically mapped out.

One thing I wasn’t expecting was good action after being spoiled recently by JW4 and Extraction 2 so I was actually pleasantly surprised to be thrilled by the action set pieces!

Seriously they blow away KOTCS, miles better.

I also wasn’t expecting old Indy to be a bad ass in this because of his supposed emasculation but he seriously was!

Dude I went in expecting KOTCS part 2 but even WOKE worse!

It isn’t.

It just isn’t.
I didn’t read your whole review… I’ll do that after I see it. Just enough to get your general feelings of it. Going on Tuesday.

The stories my old man used to tell me.

He was raised on an olive farm which was next to a vineyard.

He used to be sent by village allied spies to bring strong concentrated wine paste for the german army to slice and eat with cheese and olives.

His job was to get them drunk so that the allied soldiers could arrest them without incident or so that people could move equipment around more easily.

He used to walk his sheeps next to their camps he got paid with extra food because no one else wanted to walk them past the camps lol

He said he was never bothered by the Nazi’s as long as he stayed on the sheep path.

My dad was a legit combo of Bond, Indy and Sallah he was a serious bad ass.
