This one made me laugh...

All in all I thought it was going to be a dumpster fire of a movie but I was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't for me. It still had the vibe of our Indy basically going to war with the Nazis without actually being a soldier, keeping historical artifacts out of their hands so they can't be used as weapons of mass destruction.

Was thoroughly impressed with Harrison Ford's movements. 80yrs & still able to do it. That's a legend right there. Mangold did a spot on directing role to me. Ofcourse, there are gripes, everyone knows who I'm thinking about......but thankfully it's not to the point she's stealing the show or something.

The exchange between Voller and the black room service guy was one of my favorite's for his character with just how effortlessly his seemingly sympathetic comments instantly rattled him.
Yeah Mikkelsen I thought was great in the movie. It's just his other henchmen that were so forgettable. The blonde dude was fantastic in Sandman but didn't get to do anything interesting here.

That really says it all about this movie.

Once the alcohol wears off, I don't know how I'll truly feel about this movie, but last night and today I feel pretty good about it all. Something I never felt about KOTCS.

I was really hoping that huge henchman and Indy were going to throw down in another tribute to Pat Roach... I know Indy wouldn't last 2 seconds, but I was thinking he'd last one second and then do something clever that sends that hulk to his demise.

The movie even allows for some fun
Terminator type fan theories like maybe there's a second timeline with Voller caught in a loop where his watch allowed Archimedes to finish constructing the dial that ultimately led to his own destruction and "Timeline 1" Voller *did* get killed on the train with Indy not realizing that he was interacting with two versions of the same person.

Yeah I'm wondering if I'm still on the "it was great vibe" — just recently watched. Saw it yesterday, now into today afternoon, still feel it was great. KoTCS, I said it was nice but ultimately said this isn't going to continue, the relationship with Shia. Still can't get over that casting to this day.

Not to mention they were really hinging on the "taking up the Mantle" vibe with him. I think that's why it gets a low score. I felt like the coverage that his character got in that one were ultimately more than what Indy got due to that vibe they wanted to follow but would just be inevitably wasted in the end cause even as a kid at the time, I knew about what LaBeouf was getting into hearing on the news lol. Then Transformers followed eventually in just leaving him be.

Love it or hate it , this movie won't last long. Kids and young people just won't see it. Neither would I if I were 15 or 20 again. The movie is so "your parents action hero" movie... and who wants to see that? It will likely be remembered as a huge bomb, never making its money back... maybe even a swan song for the 80's at long last.

Yeah Mads was great as always. His "right hand" in this one I've only seen him in Logan but love his nonchalantness he seems to carry over casually in any role.

Regarding Mads surviving that "first death" aboard the train without damage, I could have sworn I saw a subtle healed 'wound' on his forehead multiple times in certain lighting, subtle but there -- which I assumed was from that hit. Maybe its just Mads actual forehead? I also though that's why he had that gray hair spilling over his forehead alot -- so he wouldn't have to go to make-up.

I'm hoping not but most likely you'll be right. I'm not from the era, only caught this one and KoTCS fresh. But I think its going to go down that route mostly due to 1 character that will be caught in reviews, that I was definitely critical of, for good reason too, detailing out a full review to a friend of mine making sure they know she's a big gripe in the film.

Again thankfully not overshadowing Indy himself.

Very true, I was about to make a comparison to Unforgiven (which is clearly a far superior film) but holy crap now I'm seeing that Eastwood was "only" 62 in that film? Damn Ford is old lol.

Same same. When I saw that I thought he'd be gone which of course wouldn't make sense due to trailers. But yeah I thought for sure total goner for a train that was moving at a relative train speed. Honestly that didn't make sense. Then a small scar to me due to you know the whole scenario. Like pretty sure that's full blunt trauma but ok little scar walk away.

Yes I noticed the subtle scar as well. Still seems like there has to be two timelines though to account for the watch, lol.
