Re: NEW Two Face! PeterParkerPreview..Ray's custom works, projects, photography & fun

Thanks my friends! mightyq I think we will see Seb work some similar magic with the same recipe for two face very soon as well! In the video I mention how his work was my inspiration, speaking of which what the heck is with that video? Too long it's only 10 mins? I I've watched videos over an hour Lon on YouTube, ill try loading it in parts instead...

Re: Ray's custom works, projects, photography, bashes and fun stuff.

For the recipe I did the following:

Head: Headplay, sculpted goatee and repainted hair
Ninja Tunic: Brown Crazy owners, dyed black
Pants: Barney Ross
Gauntlets: Takura Batman, repainted and texturized
Hands: Sideshow, armor bits cut from portfolio cover, weathered and painted.
Boots: I think 3 A nazi boots, the covering and straps was done myself using flocked paper, weathered
Sweater: I think from Bullet Ballet by Triad. Dyed black from Gray
Brown lining: brown scarf from toyanxiety
Sword: Crazy Owenrs

I know this is old but Ray that's the best Ra's I've seen in a long time. Great Job man. Sorry for bumping the old pics.

That 1st pic of Luke looks amazing, the first one ive seen that's tempted me to nick ht head to put a Roth Luke together

Re: STAR WARS preview...Ray's custom works, projects, photography & fun stu

Thanks shocktrooper, I am pretty happy with the result and I avoided doing this for the longest time because I didn't think I'd be able to pit something together that lived up to HT standard, thankfully I was wrong.

Those guys using the Medicom wig, I'm not happy with the look because the sculpting of the hair looked outdated. I trimmed and resculpted the hot toys hair and while not perfect I like it better than any other option so far. I might try sculpting one from scratch.

The jumpsuit is Medicom, I redid all the closures including magnetic flaps. The vest is Medicom. Belt is sideshow with darkened edges. Lightsaber and hilt is sideshow. Boots are German real leather boots. Hand in the first pic and second pic are SS GI joe hands. I think, I can't be sure.

The robe is also sideshow, it's unmodded other than I trimmed the fraying edges and fabric glued the edges so it won't further fray and fabric glued rhe inner flap on the hood to make it less bulky.

Both Vader and Yoda look awesome! Can't wait for the full reveals.

Let me guess, it's the Hurricane Vader and a modded Medicom Yoda.

Re: STAR WARS preview...Ray's custom works, projects, photography & fun stu

Thanks man!

Yes Yoda is repainted Medicom with weathered clothing and real hair.

What was the Hurricane Vader? Mine is actually the sideshow figure on a Kaustic Plastic 02 body. Lforigno modded tunic and cape with the Hasbro dome that I added the widows peak by fusing styrene and sanding into shape and then gloss painting rhe dome in black. Very happy with the result!

Re: STAR WARS preview...Ray's custom works, projects, photography & fun stu

While we are at it ill list my other mods:

Stormtrooper is on a Slim HT body with his chest armor curved to fit his body.

Boba is on a slim HT body, his head was opened and pryed with plastic wedges to widen the helmet. The chest armor was also restructured and his ab plate curved to not be flat as it came originally. His wookie braid is also shaped with mod podge.

Han is on a padded blitzway body with the Enterbay neck and chest slip over it. Belt is sideshow, boots repainted vts explorer the jacket is sideshow but I dropped and squared up his pockets. The rest is the default UU parts. Hair and eyebrows were repainted.

It looks exactly like MarfMaster's! What kind of hair did you use?

The Hurricane Vader is made by a freak on this board. Here's a picture of it.

I believe it uses reworked Kaiyodo and Hasbro pieces.

Re: STAR WARS preview...Ray's custom works, projects, photography & fun stu

That vader looks amazing, I'm fairly certain that's the hasbro dome as well but I could be wrong.

Are the gloves kaiadoo? I really want to be able to pose vader like that and the SS gloves don't allow.

I think silent surfer did marfs Yoda. I used Lallas as a guide for paint and hair, his hair might be a bit finer than mine but the pattern is the same, one could argue there's a tad bit too much of it but I wanted to make sure none of the sculpted hair underneath showed through.

I bought these sand bags on eBay th i thought were super tiny but ended up massive and useless to me, the stuffing inside is what I used its like pillow stuffing maybe. I painted over it with watered down acrylic black paint to get it from white to gray. I used a very specific technique careful to make it look like nathral growth patterns and affixed it with different types of glue. I repainted it myself and used the default Medicom paint as a base and added shadows and highlights from that.

Re: STAR WARS preview...Ray's custom works, projects, photography & fun stu

ray, that is the best yoda i have ever seen!! as well as the others.. as usual, great work.

Re: Brosnan Bond and Scarecrow...Ray's custom works, projects, photography & fun stu

Been a bit since I posted new things.. Don't get much time to just fool around with these anymore.

I never really liked Hot Toys scarecrow. I always thought the head looked cheesy and fake. Here's an updated Scarecrow with Sinag Creation's great handmade mask! I modded it a bit, recolored it and affixed it to the ToyHeadquarters Cillian Murphy head. I also added a new Noose. He is using Joker hands there. I also thought the boots looked odd with everything else fabric so I have him real leather boots courtesy of Newline.

Re: STAR WARS preview...Ray's custom works, projects, photography & fun stu

Next up is the amazingly talented Inigou's Brosnan head. Most know I was pretty damn actively interested in the production of this one. I just finally got to paint it last night and could not be happier. Finally another grail crossed off with the caliber I demand.

Since I'm still kind of a Novice I always closely have a top notch painted head beside every project I paint to make sure my work is up to par

Re: Brosnan Bond and Scarecrow...Ray's custom works, projects, photography & fun stu

Awesome stuff pal. Love the bond!

Ray GTFO out of here with that Bond man too sick!

You should post your Rust on here too. I have that pic saved it was so great. I even showed it to Trev, he loved your setup.

Re: Brosnan Bond and Scarecrow...Ray's custom works, projects, photography & fun stu

Top work on both there. You managed to make the Scarecrow look even creepier than he did in the movie.

CHEERS!

Re: Cattleman, Ned, Rorschach .Ray's custom works, projects, photography & fun stu

WGP Catwoman! I haired the sculpt myself after my good friend Josh Small mailed the head to me. Not because I didn't like the work of any of the other artists and because I didn't think that it should have been part of the price of the figure, but because I wanted to do it myself. I wanted to see how accurate i could get the hair and to see if i could hair a sculpt like this. Im very pleased with the result.
