Hello Everyone, One Sixth Society did an Interview with Molecule8's Founder Vijay Chadha. Check it out if you have a spare moment. Thank You!

He confirmed that the Lennon figure will be out in may 2017, so all our questions should be answered this month.

He didn't confirm Lennon would be out this month. He only said he'd like to see faster turnaround times if quality allows it. The guy is very vague.

Well, he would not say it is not out in May too. It would be foolish to make everybody expect it in May from his answer and do as Blitzway does.

Props to the interviewer for asking some of the questions collectors wanted asked. However, he didn't answer the question about release time at all. I don't think there is any serious chance this gets released in May. If I were a betting man, I would say early next year at the earliest, just factoring in that the prototype isn't yet finished, and they are producing at least 1,000 of these, without any noteworthy experience that we are aware of. Going on that alone, it could take a year or more to get these finished. In fact, if I could critique one thing about the interview, it is that there were no questions asking about the experience of those involved in actually producing figures, or any other products. Do they have anyone on staff worked for another 1/6 scale company in the past? Have they produced products of other kinds? Have they established a relationship with a factory somewhere (possibly India instead of China in this case)? What is their distribution strategy?

The other big question is about where they actually are in terms of pre-production. Do they even have a working prototype of the endoskeleton? Are they really planning to use rubber or latex skin, etc.?

Let me guess, Hunterdnc sent in a contact form via the molecule8 website and said "Hi, can I interview you for our website?"

Response says "yes". And here we are. . . .

Blog with no credibility interviews company founder with no credibility and this is supposed to improve things?? Nah.

This isn't Woodward and Bernstein investigative journalism here.

I mean, when wookster broke the news about Blitzway's Scarface figure so many years ago, I believed it. When ZIPCOOLO posts a new figure I believe it. When Darklod Dave gives us info about Star Ace, I believe it. When someone who I know, has contacts in the industry is able to vouch for these guys, I'll be a bit more optimistic. But for now, everyone should be highly skeptical.

:lol

Be that as it may, hearing a marketing spiel from the horse's mouth is better than not hearing anything at all. At least someone did reach out to the guy. But of course, this does nothing to legitimize (or de-legitimize) this operation. It's still all an act of faith that an upstart with no known history will make good on these promises.

I hate to say it but I was really thrown off by the line at the end of the article about "presenting the most accurate news" when their recent article about the history of Hot Toys / Howard Chan was so inaccurate...oh well I give them credit for trying at least...

Feel free to PM me with corrections on the Chan article. I had to make do with stuff I found and contact with people close to Howard. If there is stuff that needs to be fixed I am more than happy to fix it.

As for the validity of the interview, I'm inclined to agree. The whole interview idea started because we were suspicious. That's not to say that the answers relieved suspicions, they didn't but we had to try. I was pleased that we got anything to be totally honest. Still very whitebread answers.

Sorry man...nothing big just a few points that I shared in a reply to that thread but I will shoot you a PM. In fairness it is a lot easier for me to criticize than it is for you to put your site together so criticizing in this way was not my coolest moment.
