I just heard about the arc reactor being in the incorrect position just a little bit ago and wanted to jump in here. All of the pieces will in fact have the arc reactor (on the internal portion of the piece) in the wrong position unfortunately. There should be an email going out today or tomorrow to applicable customers about the changed positioning of the arc reactor. Those who have already received their piece in hand (or are reading this now and haven't received theres yet) can contact customer service directly to cancel their order or have a return issued to receive a refund (if you've already received) if the arc reactors look is not to your liking.

I certainly understand that this unfortunate error on the piece is very disappointing for y'all after having had to wait to so long to receive it. I hope that many will still be happy with their piece if they choose to keep it but we don't want folks to keep their pieces (or receive them) if they are unhappy about the final look of the internal arc reactor, so please do contact our customer service department directly if you wish to cancel your order/receive a refund.

Wow, is this disappointing. So the ONLY option is return/refund or keep it? Damn. Looking forward to this going on TWO years and they put the freaking arc reactor or UPSIDE DOWN???? Unreal. I, too, was likely going to display this with the chest plate on anyway, but how on earth do you screw this up? Now I have to decide to keep or return my item, which is ALREADY shipping? Will the shipping back be paid? Will I get my NRD back as well, or am I already screwed out of that? Just unbelievable.

They should just drop the price of the remaining units , sell them with a disclaimer and divvy up the money in vouchers to the peops that pre ordered

I can't see you losing any money on this one. Just two years of anticipation

Unbelievable is right. I know for a fact they will give you your NRD back (they usually do in ****s ups such as this) but not sure about the return shipping being covered as well.

Yeah, no small thing that. I really wish SS would announce products after they have actually produced them and choose a random production piece to photograph for the website announcement.... that way we don't get teased with a beautiful prototype or paint master that we will never actually receive and we won't have the long wait.

...but not sure about the return shipping being covered as well.
I haven't decided what I will do yet, but I would raise all sorts of Holy Hell if my return shipping wasn't paid and/or my current shipping wasn't refunded back as well.

Out of curiosity, since we KNOW this is real and we all know what it looks like now, what is everyone's gut reaction? Keep or return/cancel?

Dang...I hate hearing about this issue. Props to Alex for coming forward and clarifying options for the initial purchasers. Looks like a sharp, beautiful piece, but bad news for those who wanted the screen accurate version.

On the flip side...probably will be some nice sales or contests pertaining to this soon.

Condolences go out to those trying to decide whether to keep, return, or cancel... :(

Keeping mine DD. Another two month wait for my local retailer though.
It really doesn't bother me that much but I can fully understand other being bothered.

Hmmmm...Yeh, I can see huge discounts coming up...

I'm cancelling mine. I'm gonna call them tomorrow and get this sorted out.

These things aren't cheap you know? Why the hell, should I be the one that has to compromise? Nah, I have been way more selective on what I buy lately so there is no way I'm keeping something that is not movie accurate.

Good timing too, I'll redirect the funds towards that life size Mark XLLII bust that was just announced (they better not **** that one up too).

THIS is what bothers me. So the piece was screwed up... and discounts/giveaways/etc. may occur... so me, the guy who ordered early in anticipation of a great piece gets to pay full price, while someone else gets it for less? Come on. I know, I know, I could cancel, wait for price drop, rebuy... but as DFan says, why do I, the paying consumer, have to be the one jumping through all the hoops?

What a joke. I hung back on ordering this because I wanted to see the final product (mostly I wanted to see if the hand lit up) but I have been watching it for a year like many of you. I could see still owning it, I would keep the chest plate on, but not for the current price at all, seeing as how half the features and engineering I'm paying for would now have to be kept out of sight. Considering the massive delay in getting this released, only to have such a clumsy and unfixable problem is so disappointing.

This will be a costly mistake for Sideshow.
Hopefully that will spur them into better action, I guess. Ugggh.... I really didn't want the stress of having to decide to keep or not. It is STILL an amazing looking piece based off the pictures I have seen. This was to be my first bust (really only collect 1/6th figures currently) and this isn't how I wanted to start. I might even feel better if there was a semi easy way to self correct the issue, but that doesn't seem probable, and again, the whole "me the consumer jumping through the hoops" thing.

I held off getting this one and was about to purchase it a couple of days ago as it had started shipping. I chose the Punisher PF instead, just hope that one is okay. The sad thing is, I have been collecting Sideshow pieces since they first started. They used to put out really great pieces with little too no issues. Lately it seems that almost every piece has something wrong with it, from horrible paint apps to breakage. I have had more issues over the past two years that ever. My Hawkeye PF arrived broken in two right at the waist. Sadly their customer service has taken a turn as well, it is now either keep the piece as is, wait months for a replacement or return it. Quality control is non existent and this is one piece that should have never made it out of the factory with such a glaring mistake. Sorry for the rant :)

Unfortunately this isn't the first screw up, quality won't change while we keep forking out for these things I'm afraid. It's a vicious circle. I think we all get fed up and take breaks every now and then but most of us end up coming back. What we need is for all of us to take a year off collecting at the same time... I dare say prices would come down and things would change pretty quickly ;)

WOW!!! Gone a few hours and it's gone Iron Man crazy!!! :horror sideshow announce the arc reactor **** up, they announce a new MK42 1:1 bust, apparently the MKVII LSF is coming soon WTF!!! And I managed to bags Keaton Bats PF EX!! What a night!!

So who fancies a new pic of the Iron Man MKVI 1:2 Bust? :lol

I don't collect for profit but at the same time I don't want to buy a worthless bust.
While I love the look of this and want it in my collection I am really torn at the moment.

I'm with you here. I don't collect with the anticipation of flipping for money later. But as someone said earlier we DO collect as fans of the films, and dang it I want what was represented in the film! As I continue to look back at picks it is STILL an otherwise amazing piece, so I am really, really torn as well:gah: .

A shame as you've been waiting soo long, were you planning on displaying with the chest piece on or off? I know having it on is a compromise and the option to display is now pretty much gone (making a chunk of the cost of this meaningless) But at least with the chest armor on you wouldn't see the fault. You could always wait and see if this does get discounted.. If you do decide to cancel, it seems a certainty you won't have to wait long for the next iron man piece.... another tonight in fact. Personally I'd refuse to pay such prices for something with a silly flaw but then I'm far more picky than you. It isn't like this has a low ES either...
