Seriously, one great thing about BR, is that the player will automatically upconvert a standard DVD's picture to near HD quality. Not quite as sharp as a BD, but about as good as an HD broadcast.

yep got my blue-ray gift box set today, also picked up a sony player at costco for only $280. so all in all i thought it was a good day.

as for blue-ray movies i'm only buying movies which will show the best on that format, ie: sci-fi, large special effects etc. like hulk, tranformers, iron man, dark knight etc. so in a sense i;m not starting over just starting fresh with mostly new releases.

i was impressed with the helm, heavy little bugger i thought, and nice detail.
if anything, kinda thought it would be a little bit bigger, but i have never seen the helms from ssc so i wouldn't know.

Just balanced my checkbook and saw BB charged me yesterday. Anytime now. This is one of the few DVD's I will pruchase before price drops below $15 or less. Batman will be the other.

You forgot about the Free Lithograph that they gave out at Best Buy today as well. I'm really glad that I have the official Archive Mark 03 ordered, the head is not removable from the base like the others and without the stem it looks odd. Considering the GC will be used either now or during Spook, I got a DVD, Bust and Litho for free.

Kinda new to all this still so......whats spook (or spooktacular)?

Just picked mines up too. Had a $15 rewards certificate so it only cost me about $26 after tax. My Best Buy had only 4 box set but I scored 1 by ordering online using the store pick up option.

yep, same here, most movies i usually burn, from friends, relatives etc. i let them buy em, and i burn em. but i also burn alot of movies off of satelite, so i make up for it with alot of free movies for them.

but sometimes you have to buy that movie, and this is one of them. and no i didn't make any copies of this one. sht that would be against the law.

I got my set today as well. The bust turned out rather nice, although the angle the head sits at is a bit odd. Would it have hurt them to add something in the back to have it look over the nameplate leveled? That is my only complaint, and it is minor since if it bothered me enough (it doesn't) I could buy the regular archive set.

I was impressed just how well packed this was. The Hellboy and Universal Monster DVD packs either ended up with a broken bust or damaged DVD cases (which is what I finally had to settle for since the busts are the real display items). But here both the bust and DVD came out mint! Nearly flawless paint too! Just one small silver area in one of the back corners of the head. I actually missed it and my Dad actually pointed it out to me. Its so small, and in the back, it really isn't an issue.

I'm really looking forward to the Indy set now since I just find that Skull so amazing to look at!

Got mine today as well. I have the 3 Ironman mark 1 2 &3 this one ill use as a office desktop bling. the quality is every bit as good as the SS mini helms made with same material, but not elevated on the base. still 50 bucks for spooktacular is almost like getting it for free. Oh and Ironman the Movie rules too..

It's worth noting that the missing post isn't the only difference between this bust and the archive edition. The AE helmet is made of metal with a polystone base. This appears to be fully polystone.
