Awhile back I looked at the Museum Replicas Iron Man helmet. I wasn't thrilled. Now I've received the 1:1 scale Iron Man bust from Sideshow, and I realize just how really, really disappointing the MR version is.

I really like the life size bust, but I have heard horror stories of other folks having quality issues. Be forewarned, as I got a very good one, but your mileage may vary.

The guest review is from Jeff Parker, who is looking at the Kunch outfit for Jack Bauer. This season 7 set of clothes has my interest piqued...you can find all the reviews at the usual:

Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend!

"A very good one"? It might be something else, but it looks like there's a pretty huge bad paint mark in the below image on the lower left side near the centre. Either that, or there's a big dent in the sculpt. Neither of which should be acceptable for the price point.

Nothing is dented or warped  It's something weird with the way the light is hitting it (as far as the 'dent'), and the warp is what I mentioned specifically in the review - the head is turned and tilted slightly to one side.

michael, since i first stumbled upon your site i've wanted to say this to you.

you. have. too. much. money. :lol

seriously, do collectible appear at your door?
anyway, great review as always, love your site!

Heheheheh - actually, the sponsors pay for advertising. That advertising buys the toys. I have to keep doing the reviews to get the advertising, but the advertising has to get spent on the reviews. Catch-22.

I caught a break on this guy though, as I bought it from a collector (my nephew) who won it in a raffle. :)

However, I need a second 1:1 bust now to go on the other side of the room, once the basement is finished. Anyone have any suggestions? I was planning on getting the Creature, but he has such a blank look on his face.

lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky....:lol
*steals sponsors*

i would get the terminator head...i don't have it, but from pics i've seen, it looks awesome......
(and i'd love to see you review it ;))

Very good review Mike. Don't breath easy yet though because I had my bust for a few months before it began to crack / develop paint issues. It seems the change in temps here going from winter to summer caused an issue with my bust. I developed some cracks and peeling of the paint on my bust.

Nice review Michael, and I would highly suggest the Arnie T-800.

Great review Michael. This thing is way out of my price range.

Oh, and thanks to Wookster for the Bauer season 7 clothes review. I was teetering on the fence until now. I ordered it even if it's a bit pricey and the jeans aren't the best fit. I find the Enterbay Bauer is a bit too skinny as he is and the Kunch outfit bulks him up a bit.

If that happens, I'm not going to be a happy camper.

wow, from the pics, it looks like you got a winner on your hands. considering the huge number of badly flawed pieces out there (that have been extensively complained abt on this forum), it's like you won the lottery!

maybe u should buy a REAL lottery ticket michael. with your present luck, the odds are in your favour! :D

You might be right - like I said, I bought this off a guy that won it in a raffle. Now there's a lucky man! It meant he cost me a lot less than $700 though, and he turned out nice...so maybe I oughtta swing by and grab a Mega Millions tonight...if you never hear from me again, you'll know I won!

hahahaha, just remember your poor, broke, poverty-stricken brothers and sisters here @ ss freaks when u hit the jackpot! :D

Never make a purchase without your input. Chose to buy the 1:1 bust instead of the MR Mk III following your review. Thought it made sense to have this piece flanked by the MR Mk I & II. Looks great. Keep up the good work.

If you get a good one, you'll be much happier with this than the 1:1 helmet, I guarantee it. If you get a crappy one...complain to SS :)

What do you think of the Battle Damage one that is coming Michael? You think they try to sell those with defects that people returned with a new BD paint job?
