Are these the best pics we have of this piece so far? There's so much glare. :lol
In some pics the cape looks sculpted and in others it looks like fabric.

I'd say the stitching at the hem is a good indicator the cape is cloth material. I think the inner robe is cloth too, with the suit itself being sculpted. Perfect mix, IMHO.

I didn't think Iron Studios did Mix Media, everything they have done so far has been sculpted...

Hopefully it's just a place holder, last thing we need is another company putting doll clothes on their statues :p

It probably won't, it's considerably harder to achieve a similar effect with half decent results via sculpted. Also for it to achieve that the cape is definitely going to have wires in it.

As much as I like sculpted capes, the batman PFs cape is just stupid heavy for what it is. A good wired cape is an excellent alternative, so piss off with your dolliephobia.

Don't understand some hate for mixed media.. the statues are so more realistic in mixed media then fully sculpted. .. anyways.. if I can swing that piece I surely hope that his cape is fabric.. and for now it looks like it to me in the pictures I saw

Wow, that's pretty awesome. No way I'll ever have the space or cash for it, but it's certainly neat to look at. And I think the pose is fantastic. For one, it's nice to have something different. For two, intentional or not, that pose is DEEPLY rooted in actual martial arts. He's clearly walking and as he takes the next step, if he were also drawing his blade back and down he'd wind up in exactly this pose:

Which is the setup for making a sweeping upward diagonal cut. And one of the kata I learned when I was fortunate enough to train in batto jutsu did exactly that. Walk forward as you drew into the pose and then made the cut as you took one more step.

I'm bummed that I most likely will have to pass on this Vader if it is indeed as expensive to get here in the States as speculated.

I just haven't been able to convince myself to pull the trigger on the SS Vader, but if it had looked as great as the Iron Studios version there would have been zero hesitation.

I actually love the sculpted flowing cloth in the Mythos line. I would have preferred it all sculpted.

To me the cape looks kind of cheap with all the stitching shown... In the movies I don't remember seeing lots of stitching on Vaders cape like it's shown on this statue... Not to mention the amount of hours you will have to spend trying to bend those wires to give the cape a natural flowing look...

As for Batman and Superman PF capes, I agree that was a bad design, there was no reason to make the capes so thick and heavy.... MOS statue from ResinWorx has a very thin and light sculpted cape that looks awesome with a wind ripple effect going through it....

I think this statue looks great! Different poses from different companies really help give the consumer more choices! I hope the price is wrong though, yikes!

Does anyone know when and where this might go up for pre-sale? I tried looking around but no luck yet.
