I'm sure I've seen a photo on here of this exact fault before but I can't find it now. Just received a statue from Sideshow that's very clearly been assembled before (I suspect it's not the new batch either but I'm awaiting their response) this one has so many faults it's clearly a return.

Drop me a pm please if you think it might have been yours. #396

Oddly enough I don't see any of those seams gaps on that arm, that alot of people were upset about.

I suspect it was simply filled up and painted or/and is new batch.

The legs are really bad for seams. It's definitely been assembled before and spidey is covered in greasy marks and scuffs. I don't know if they are putting them together in house but they sure didn't do it carefully. Pretty disappointed.

Was that paint rub on the peg there before you assembled. It's a shame that this particular piece has been plagued with ups and downs. Iron Studios in my opinion have bounced back with their other sculpts notably Falcon And Bucky. Maybe get a refund if your not 100% happy with it.

I never got around to assembling it. I inspected all the pieces after I found the broken off pumpkin. All the pegs show wear. It's got a lot of other flaws that I can see might make it a return (and I'm not usually particularly fussy) This one was sitting in the warehouse and not part of a IS shipment makes me a little suspicious.

I've got every piece so far from the civil war line and they are perfect, this one is just really unfortunate.

Sideshow did this to a bunch of people hoping they wouldn't notice. they even had the nerve to state the pieces were "inspected by our expert QC". They were simply statues they tried to cobble together from spare parts. I can't believe they're still doing it.

Can you imagine waiting so long to get a piece you expect should be much better considering the wait Sideshow put on the recall. The last thing I would want to hear is a $50 voucher slap

I'm waiting sideshows response but being international I'm not hopeful. Shipping went up from $175 to $207 during the wait as well, ouch.

Sometimes in the end it's best to get pieces locally rather than direct from Sideshow.

Qld Australia, not too far out of Brisbane. Came as a bit of a surprise for sure.

I ordered shortly before it originally shipped and looking at currency it seemed a bit cheaper to go with sideshow.

I kept the sideshow order because of the re-manufacture which popcultcha wasn't apart of (what a waste of time that turned out to be)

I got my response:

"Please know that we do not, under any circumstances, ship out returns. This item in particular, due to the issues with production, all returns were destroyed. We then received a new shipment of these items in from Iron Studios and QC inspected them all. Unfortunately, something was missed with this due to human error"

I suppose I'm lying that this has been assembled? They've offered me a refund as there are apparently no replacements. I've got two opposing emails wanting it destroyed/returned.

Yeah I was doing the math on which retailer would be cheaper prior to it shipping out from Sideshow. But I remember it being very close to the $1,000 AUD GST/customs threshold and decided against it; like half a cent currency translation close.

And I seriously doubt that they would want this piece returned. It's a waste of shipping costs. But in either case just reply to the destroy email.

That's hog wash for sure! Get your money back! The exchange rate was very close at the time. I understand though why you went with Sideshow. If the exchange rate was under the $1000 threshold it would have worked out a bit cheaper. Quite crazy though they would charge you more second time around for the shipping.

I am very sad to hear of all of the problems this piece has had as the sculpt is beautiful and the concept / design is like nothing I have ever seen before in the statue world. Sincerely I am sorry for Sara-au and all other fellow collectors that were not happy, I hope that you all worked something out.

I would like to share my experience : I ordered mine through Popculture (Australia) and received a piece which had problems (Spiderman had spots of glue on his legs), the other thing that I noticed was that the base pieces did not fit together 100% correctly, I was not happy about the base pieces not fitting together tightly but I was willing to accept this and was more concerned with the glue spots on Spiderman. I contacted Iron Studios via e-mail and eventually was put onto Marcello at Iron Studios, he reviewed the photos that I had provided him with and replied back straight away assuring me that he would be sending me out a replacement Spiderman statue. I received a replacement Spiderman statue (minus the base) which is perfect, no flaws or problems.

Now, onto the base pieces,,, I cannot explain this and would be curious if other collectors have found anything similar. ( A few weeks after having the piece displayed in a Stuva cabinet, I was taking some photos and thought I would see if I could position any of the base pieces closer together / make them fit together more tightly, and to my surprise all pieces clicked perfectly into position with no gaps and a perfect tight fit ).

I have a reasonable sized statue collection and this Iron Studios Spiderman is definitely one of my absolute favorite pieces. I could never imagine selling this piece ever.

I understand that a lot of people have hate for this piece and I don't wish to have an argument / debate, I just wanted to share my experience and my opinion.

I have never personally had such amazing customer service from any other statue manufacturer anywhere in the world, because of this I will always support Iron Studios and happily purchase their statues. I look forward to watching them grow even further as a company.

I personally have nothing against Iron Studios at all. I believe the piece was plagued from day 1. I ordered this myself from Sideshow and they cancelled this piece it didn't charge or ship out to me. Then the dreadful email came stating the statue was recalled. I believe because of all the drama I decided not to Keep the order and got my deposit back. However if I had ordered from pop I would have this piece right now, it would of been probably better than the batch Sideshow had.

Iron Studios have bounced back with stand out pieces like Falcon and Bucky. Falcon just blew me away. I love that piece to death.

I'm glad to hear yours worked out well for you. I've heard from a few people that ordered through popcultcha that IS replaced pieces that had problems. The other 1/4 I have from them are fantastic and I'm keen to see more. I will have this guy one day.

I'm getting a refund at least but I'm pretty disappointed with SS at the moment

Man, shocker ... I had a wait list on this piece since Sept 16, 2016 and it converted ... Now I do not know what to do :(. I had this day 1 pre-order ... almost paid off then it got recalled and I was refunded in full. It is from SS, but I do not know what to think with this piece. Any advice/thoughts on this ... I know it has been plagued with issues.

I'm glad that you are happy with your other 1/4 Iron Studios pieces and I totally understand your disappointment with it all.

On a positive note : when you do get him, (if you decide to), it will prob make it even more special to you.

The next piece that I will order from them will be there new Wolverine 1/4, can't wait.
