yes, i believe you are..............:yess:

solution to avoid price jacking and to save money:

collect HT headsculpts only..
runs around 20-30 bucks per piece.. (original HotToys hs)
purchase few TTM body, HT clothes,.. or make it yourself.. :D

except for ironman line and predators, not much choice..
not to mention upcoming starwars line..

For every person thats stops collecting HT, 10 more will start.

and 10 of them will convert to statue collectors once they collect statue.. thats what happen to me after collecting statue, i was like..

why the heck im collecting hot toys????

On the other hand if he deteriorates in two years, boy will I be pissed

:lol

for deterioration issues i dont think ht/enterbay rubber will break down that easily with the first few years,

on the other hand,
saw it in youtube few months back, someone keep their warmachine for like 2-3 months before opening it, and then it broke down (blinking disco lights and all, buttons buried).. and he was like " this is so bulls**t, paying 200 bucks for this crap ", unable to return it to sideshow since it's over 30 day policy or something..

$20 - 30 for a head sculpt is not the norm for more popular figures, you're looking at closer to $65 and up just for heads. Add in the cost for the body, every piece of clothing, accessories, and shipping on all those individual items and often you won't be saving much at all.

Its their own fault if it goes past SS return/exchange window. That's why you open that sucker up to examine it & make sure everything is in working order. I haven't had time to display my Mark VI but I checked it out anyway when I first got it; sure enough the face plates were either missing magnets or didn't sit on the face flush. SS was able to send me a replacement & I averted a potential disaster.

Also if you're not going to display it take out the damn batteries. That's just old fashioned common sense there.

I'm not "Over them", but if the price of their figures continues to climb soon I'll no longer be able to afford them.

Personally, I think their fame and popularity has gone to their heads and they're getting greedy.

.

simple and correct answer man...

WE ARE OVER HOTTOYS RIDICULUOUS PRICE

Interestingly enough, I'm just getting in to Hot Toys. Which my recent disappointment in cost of Pf's going up with ssc, and quality being what it is (not great in my opinion) I'm looking at Hot Toys now. I'm very interested in their new 1/4 line. Who doesn't want to pose their figures? And after doing a lot of researching and seeing the sculpts on their 1/6 alone, I'm blown away. It's hard to look at my ssc 1/6 now.

After the Buffy line ends with ssc, I think that may be it for me as I embark on my journey with HT.

HT's is getting more and more expensive and even though they have a great product, it is harder to get every thing I want. I am having to be more selective and more specific on which lines I collect.

I am officially priced out of high end collectibles. High end used to be $100-150 for figures. $200-300 Means being more selective, and if I am being more selective, I can honestly say after the release of Keaton Batman and Reeve Superman, I have all the icons represented.

I'm over Iron Man figures and Predators, I'm sure after TDKR I'll be over Batman. But I am getting fed up with their insane price hikes, and rereleases. I'm going to jsut be more selective from ehre on out, I dropped my HT budget through next year 2nd quarter, from 2600 to 1200, so yeah. Not getting every little IM Armor variant and what not.

Um, going back to what people have said about rubber leaking? I really don't want to start buying any HT if after a handful of years (or at all really) they will leak. I'm not paying $170- God knows how much for a figure that's not going to last me a lifetime.

Can someone clear this up for me?

BG, what's the question do they leak or don't leak? :monkey1

I guess with a lot of the figures time will tell, a lot of the rubber suits have leaked but then again I have a few that haven't had any signs.
