Should Batman be in the Man of Steel Sequel?

^ By that logic they should throw out all existing villains and make brand new ones since "errypony alrdy knows dat".

If/when they reboot Batman is when they should tell the origin story again, not for the Superman/Batman movie. That's what I was trying to say.

I would have liked at least one more exclusive Superman film before the introduction of Batman.

:goodpost: I couldn't agree more.

Same here. But DC had to have something to compete with Avengers-Age of Ultron, and Justice League wasn't happening.

This is precisely why Batman is stepping into the film - JL was taking too long and Marvel is already gearing up for a sequel with presumably, another big hit (Guardians) in the pipeline.

They should have just focused on making MOS more interesting instead of trying to bring Batman in so early

MOS was ok but the film just sort of went on and then finished, felt like there was a lot missing that they should have tried to recoup on in a sequel

Haven't seen MoS yet so can't comment really. But I hate the idea of Batman in a world of superheroes. What purpose can he truly serve with aliens, mutants, and monsters when guys like Superman exist?

I'm with Ben, it all depends on how it's implemented. I was really hoping for a BTAS/AA/AC setting and world. Superman could fit into that rather easily.

Read one of the thousands of comics where this happened, or watch the Justice League cartoons to find out!

I like the idea of introducing the new Batman in MOS 2. He can show up and already be an established Batman. Also if it sucks, they can still roll with a new Batman franchise pretty easily.

Batman and Superman have co-existed in the same universe for much longer than they have as solo characters.

Bottom line is with Superman and Batman pretty much the world knows about these character much more than really any of the Marvel characters that needed development with the films...Everyone knows who Batman and Superman are and what they are about pretty much...not many knew about Iron man till the films came out...These 2 would not be rushing it....Marvel had too...Spiderman is one of the few Marvel characters also that many do know about...if not then you gotta buy a TV or go out more often and read or see films...Batman can easily show up in a MOS film without any complaints(unless writing totally sucks):lecture....Using catch up is now an excuse, the Marvel/DC catchup thing coulda been vice-versa and people would be saying the same thing....If any comic superheroes could make a teamup work awfully fast it's Supes and Bats. That's it.:exactly::lecture....Thier comic book history is unequalled and have been around for about the last 75 years

I do think they would need a new BM film though... none of that Nolan crap.

All you need to know about Batman is that his Billionare parents were killed in front of him as a child thus eventually making him a crimefighter...That's all you need to know...and basically most of the world knows that already...Just like Superman...His parents sent him to earth for his safety and he's got super powers because of where he landed. Ma and Pa Kent and Jorell taught him his ethics...that's it...The world again knows this thus we can begin

Yeah but after finally getting Superman going again if they ballsit up then thats it for Superman for another decade

I think it's got immense potential. The unfinished story strands at the end of MOS are RIPE for Batman coming in to give Supes a lesson in Superheroics 101

A BILLION DOLLARS GUARRANTEED...The film that starts out of the gate first will do best like IM3 this year started a couple weeks early raking it it....I would not want any of these MOS2 SW7 or AV2 going head to head...have one start in April/May another June and another in July

I think the bigger question is whether WB has confidence in other non Batman characters to develop movies around? We're in the middle of the third decade in a row in which Batman has appeared in a movie. While Marvel will have all kinds of characters (from B-list to unknowns) out in a 10 year span (counting the upcoming movies).

I'm a fan of all CBM's being successful, so this is not a Marvel vs. DC thing. I'm more like, come on WB/DC, you know these characters, find a way to get them on screen without relying on the Batman for help.
