This is my take on it from an earlier post.

And sorry WG, not quite a Kurgan. The sculptor probably realized that if they went too close to the actual Medieval F'n Kurgan Armor design the Stormtrooper would have spontaneously combusted from coming into contact with such greatness.

He must have wisely chosen a lesser design so as to be able to ensure the stability of his work.

Only like that, the character looks good..why SS did not make that version instead is sillyness..Evil Ash is pretty much a lighter armored version of the Kurgan somewhat..should have been no problem making this figure.
