Is there any Collectible you bought and later regretted?

I understand people choosing Statues and busts over figures, but if you buy according to license, sometimes there are no choices.
Example- Some of my fav movies are Terminator, Rocky and Rambo.
Sure I can buy Life size busts for Terminator.
But for Rocky and Rambo, unless I go with the legendary scale stuff (which sucks by the way), You have to go with Hot Toys 1/6....
I think if you like the license enough, sometimes the medium does not matter as long as it is well done

And as soon as Terminator, Rocky and Rambo go PF I will sell all of my 12"ers. I WILL be 100% PF and busts very soon.

Cinemaquette Predator
It is gorgeous and huge - but I just have a hard time justifying the 2K pricetag. Plus with the baby coming in Dec, I may have to sell it.

CSC Green Vega Ex, horrible paint app all together on these, now he just sits in a box and for such a limited piece, theres relatively no demand for him :dunno

You must have lucked out with a bad one, because mines is perfect, and he's easily one of my favorite pieces. You shouldn't have to dump him at a loss, especially with SFIV out there. There's demand for him, but buyers of this line are few and far between.

Dude have you ever posted pics of your collection? I remember you saying something about moving and not having an actual setup but have things changed since? I would love to see your setup!

For me it was the HT Aliens Alien, because I was sooo looking forward to it... only to get it, and have the ankles snap, and a hand snap... and a loose leg... it was a NIGHTMARE, especially from a figure that cost as much as it did.

The other disappointment was the LOTR line. I bought them all, thinking it would be the Fellowship lineup I always wanted... but it died and I feel like I wasted my time and money.

I would say that most of the purchases I regretted were impulse purchases, that is, something that wasn't on my list of interest but I took the plunge anyways either because of collector feedback, curiosity, sale price, or other factors. Examples were the Red Skull PF, Predator dio, and Trick or Treat Sam. And those impulse purchases were aplenty. Eventually I sold them all off. I don't make such impulse purchases anymore. I have one license I'm currently collecting and I stick to just that.

It's too easy to get carried away with these collectibles. I was really into PFs at one point. But I looked around one day and had nearly 20 pieces, with no more room. Good luck in trying getting rid of those space hoggers without losing your shirt. They've gotten too pricey for their quality and they don't hold their value. I sold all but two at a significant loss and I don't plan on going back.

Thanks man! Actually, almost everything is packed up now and in storage. We are getting our house ready to be put on the market. I'm hoping sometime in the Sep-Oct timeframe we will have a new house and a nice and big room for the collection. Look for some pics then!

Rocky 3's face just looks too clean for me if that makes sense. Maybe it just lacks a good facial expression but it just always seemed expressionless to me.
The outfit makes up for it though.
I don't see the issue with the M65 skin color as he was a drifter and bound to have a bit of a tan. I also find it photographs allot darker than it actually looks in real life.
So you see...You are wrong sir... GOOD DAY:horror
:peace:D

Rocky III is just as impressive as the Rambo III and M65 imo. Plus they made M65 Rambo's complexion way too dark.

I think I'd love PF's if they were smaller. Mixed media is really cool. I would go nuts for 1/6 scale premium formats. Though posing them can be refreshing to mix things up. Building custom figures is also awesome and is what is keeping me in the hobby.

I totally agree with this. I don't know how some of you collect these PFs. Where do you find the space to put all of them?? Not to mention the cost of collecting these!!!

I went to my local comic shop today and saw the new Conan PF. And don't get me wrong, it is pretty awesome. But it is HUGE. And I'm sure it's heavy too. If only they made these PFs in 1/6 I would be totally into them.

But since they don't, the only ones I could ever see myself getting is maybe the Arnold Terminator and the Indiana Jones. Oh and also I could see myself picking up a Sauron. I could deal with him being huge because he is so big compared to everyone else in the movie.

Oh and I haven't regretted buying anything yet. I'm usually very picky.

I regret I bought HT Octopus and have Silken Floss preordered. The figure is fantastic but movie is so f^^^ crap. I didn't see the movie at time I preordered it. And in my case, if I cancel preorder I'll be charged for cancellation fee.

Cancel it anyway. IMO its always better to pay a cancel fee than pay for shipping and price on something you know you don't want.

I'd have to say all my Play Arts Final Fantasy figures..maybe except Vincient(Advent Children version)..i just lost interest in them as they sit in a box now.
