You would be surprised. It takes a lot of work and money to make Sideshow Indy look good. After custom work for decent clothing, accessories, and repaint, you're looking at a $400+ figure. Most people don't want to bother with the effort, time, and cost. Then take a look at HT Wolverine. I would gladly pay $200+ for a HT Indy that features the same type of realistic appearance that made it out of the factory (including detailed body, accessories, clothing, etc.).
Justin, you're talking a handfull of people though. Most just accepted the figure as is. As for HT's Wolverine, that's a failed comparison. While the body and clothes are good (the boots are a FAIL!), the likeness is WAY off. At HT's price, that's inexcusable. And while you would gladly pay $200+ for an HT Indy, would you single-handedly purchase enough to make it cost effective for HT? Remember, this forum represents only a small niche of the collector market, and HT would need to sell MUCH more to break even, let alone turn a profit.
