A re-boot is easy, existing fan base which equates to $$$$$. Perhaps they lost their creativity, I think their balls dropped off. No one will risk investing a large sum of capital into a "new idea" that at best has a sucess rate of 50 / 50. Hollywood's bail out plan for movies in a hard economic climate, they go for a "more sure" thing.

Commando is an over-the-top, testosterone driven film that worked because of Arnie. I cannot imagine an actor today who could pull off a major testosterone flick like Arnie or Sly back in the day. Which means they will re-write the script, lose the 'flava' of the original, cast Arnie in a minor role. No thanks

The Rock is the only recent "actor" that could pull it off. But he is a kids movie actor now.

As I think about this, possibly Ray Stevenson. He was a bad ass in Punisher. Though I don't think he has the 'roid sculpted bodies of those others.

Now now this may be a good idea actually. Maybe they can change the fact that he was forced on a plane with a black guy, kills the black guy and then has time for jokes, excapes the moving plane, makes his way to a mall, kidnaps some broad, beats the crap outta security guards, gets spotted and persues the little man in cool car until he crashes, then goes to a hotel and kills another black guy, heads over to an ammo shop that has everything but nucleur bombs, get a bite to eat, avoids cops after being arrested, escapes from broad help, breaks into a plane yard, steals a plane and flys the same distance to South America BEFORE THE ACTUAL ^^^^ING COMMERCIAL AIRLINER THAT LEFT HOURS BEFORE HIM GETS THERE!!!???
