I fully agree with Collector Freak....

whoa.....

;)

I just can't get to excited about that kind of thing...but I love to be proven wrong, especially when it's Star Wars. One thing's for sure, I won't be able to pass on seeing Star Wars on the big screen again, even if it is in 3d.

If its just 3D I think you only need to have a digital projector. The crappy theater in my town upgraded a year or so ago and they can now show stuff in 3D.

Oh, so like the standard blue and red glasses and that's it, I thought it'd be special technology like IMAX 3D movies.

No they do the clear glasses, it doesn't have to be IMAX, I think that it might be only digital though. At least the Disney ones are only on "Disney Digital".

Don't you DARE talk about the Carmike that way! :lol I wish they'd just tear that thing down and build a real theater.

Anyways, I'll be among the lemmings going to see SW on the big screen again. Hopefully at the IMAX in 3D. :rock

This is pretty exciting. I mean 3-D is cool and all, but the best part is I'll be able to take my daughter to go see Star Wars in the theatre!!! She'll get a real kick out of that I'm sure, and I know I will!

I'm pretty excited about getting to see the Saga again in the theaters presented in a new and exciting way such as this. The technology is supposed to be ground breaking if I am correct so this type of 3D experience should be different from what we have experienced in the past.

Absolutely. Although some might call us "lemmings" for actually looking forward to this new technology.

Im confused

I thought 3D as a process needed the subject that was being shot to be shot by 2 cameras from 2 slightly different angles for the process to work ?

Were the Star Wars OT or any of the others shot like that, or am I missing something

Im guessing the latter

There is a new process that digitally "separates" the existing film elements to create the same 3-D effect. And the case of movies like SW it's even easier because there were several existing elements for many shots already due to the special FX.

I'm happy for Star Wars 3D to bring in a new generation like the SE's did in 1997, see the toy lines continue and generally have something to talk about. But if they add anything else to the Original Trilogy, then I won't be going to see it.

I could live with the changes in 1997 to Empire and ROTJ (though I would have preferred if Jabba had stayed on the cutting room floor). But any more additions and I won't be going to see it, 3D or no. I'm happy enough with my DVD of the original 1977 Star Wars!

Really if the only changes to this is the omission of Jedi Rocks I will be one happy lil' pooper.

With more additions or not SW is better than anything else I've seen in theaters in the last few years.

Maybe its the principle for some of you, but adding something here and there even if its not that great hardly ruins the films as a whole.

I wouldn't mind seeing more deleted scenes like the Wampa killing snowtroopers or the Luke and Biggs scene.

I've seen SW dozens and dozens of times I enjoy seeing a little new now and then. I can't wait till I can see it in a entirely new format. I just want to get some hard facts of when it will be here.

:rotfl:rotfl:lol I was hoping that they would when it was being renovated... sadly no luck :monkey2
