What's really sad is that the Roger Rabbit statue's were just announced last week and are already tied at 2 a piece with the G.I. Joe's that have been announced for almost a year. :banghead

I still have hopes we will see another before SS. But throughout all this, it just leads me to believe we will never get the full scope from SS. As a fan of RAH, I want the Dusty's and dreadnoks, but doubt the line will ever make it that far.

I think thats one of the real issues with the line and the pace. There are so many characters that mean some much to people that more then likely will not be made... Dusty, Junk Yard and Mutt, Recondo, Night Vipers, Monkey Wrench....

keep your fingures cross, that SS will make more then just the what... 10 main characters (SS,SS,CC,Destro,Baroness,Duke,SE,Flint,Hawk,Skarlett,Cobra Trooper)

Thats the thing, I hope they do, but I cant see them doing more then the 10 you suggested.

I know most of you will disagree with me :monkey3 ...but the one that I want the most is:

95% of my collection is PF, statue, and comiquette, so other than CC, SE, and Duke...with Firefly in my collection I would be happy.

Damn I would like a Firefly 12" as he has always been my favorite and I am sure many of you know the next figure is the Cobra Trooper.

IMO, poor pacing was what killed the LOTR line. This line, being timed with old people having sex, looks like it is headed the same direction too. Hopefully they'll have more figures announced before the movie hits theaters because if there's a sure fire way of killing interest, that movie looks to be it. Then again, only having 2 figures announced instead of 4 or more, kinda softens the blow of cancellations. I think if nothing is announced by New Years, I'll leave my two POd exclusives to somebody on the Wait List. Don't really have an interest in starting up another line that's doomed to be put "on hold" (canceled) before the main cast is even done.

This is exactly what I was trying to say a few pages back. More people are starting to feel this way about the 12 inch line of figures. Pick a license Sideshow and run with it but don't spread yourself so then that you can't make but 1 or 2 figures a year from one specific line. Nobody wants to slap down money on a line that is dead before an item has even shipped from it.:banghead

You know, I don't get it. The Star Wars line has hella releases all year long. Indy already has 3 figures and 2 dios announced WTF?! Not that I'm complaining, but I'd actually prefer a bit of space between SW releases for them to develop some of the other properties I collect and I'm sure others feel the same, so how 'bout it SS? :huh

I get the feeling that probably by the end of next year, for us 1:6 collectors it'll be Indy and Star Wars for the main ones and The Dead, because that line is EXTREMELY cost effective, and that's it. :( Although with the sneak peek of the Patient Zero PF on the calendar, and the fact that the variants are rotting in their warehouse (pun intended :p), perhaps they're moving The Dead property into the PF genre too. Isn't Klauder like a diehard G.I. Joe fan?! Why isn't he pushing them to at least hint at another Joe announcement?! LOTR only got 7 figures (though why Boromir and Faramir over Merry, Pippin and/or Gimli is beyond me) for the line, not even a commitment for the full Fellowship. Man it would suck to just get Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander and a Cobra grunt out of this line before it sinks... You'd think they'd at least do all the ones they featured in the promo vid when they announced the license.

Additionally, I sent in an "Ask Sideshow" question months ago requesting some kind of official statement regarding all the rumors of them phasing out the 1:6 collectible market and to date haven't heard anything back. :(

EDIT: Found this ol' "Ask Sideshow" question:
Q: Sideshow’s new G.I. Joe 12-inch Figure line looks fantastic! First Snake Eyes, now Cobra Commander - they’re coming at us pretty fast! How often will you announce a new G.I. Joe figure - like as often as Star Wars releases, which seem like once per month?

A: Thanks! We don’t expect to release G.I. Joe figures quite as often as we release Star Wars figures. The current plan is to release one every quarter, but that schedule is subject to change based on the popularity of the line (it’s off to a great start), creative & development schedules, and how smoothly production goes.

With Snake Eyes being announced a loooooooong time ago and Cobra Commander being announced at SDCC this year, and both Ex and Reg additions are waitlisted, we're about overdue for another announcement which, I'm guessing over the holidays, will be the Cobra Trooper. Why that would be the third figure released is anybody's guess. Personally, I would've put out a few Joes first to encourage multiple purchases (at least 2) of the trooper. But I'm certainly not going to purchase a grip of army builders to fight off Snake Eyes. :lol

Since we see it on the back of the SE box, we should see this annoucement soon. Kind of anti climatic now, wish the next one would be something we knew nothing of.

SS has yet to offer any license quite like GIJOE, after 45 years the brand still will not go away. A $100 figure every few months is a good pace. We already know the Cobra Trooper is coming soon and I think a 4th one will be shown by Toy Fair if not sooner.
