I'd much prefer they give him the crossed 7.62 ammo belts and the M240B than the silly, highly unrealistic dual-wielding miniguns the V2 came with. Even going with the MK48 would be a huge disservice to R&R, given it's only fractionally bigger than the 249. Hell, they can give the M240B an updated look from the pic I posted by simply slapping an ACOG or even an EOTECH and Magnifier on it.

Yup, I'm with 'Nam.

The whole minigun thing is overdone. The only figures I would want to see with a minigun on my shelves is a T-800 or possibly Blaine from Predator...

I was just talking about his uniform (esp the hat)....:lol Did someone mention the gatling guns?

One thing I do remember liking about the V2 is he had a rifle that connected to his hip. I don't know if thats even sensical, but I thought it was cool as a kid. I don't think he needs a second rifle, but would like to see him have a holster for a pistol, I'm sure they plan on that anyway since all the Joes have that.

M240 would defintely be best fit. I think anyway.

Matter of fact there is a plan to replace the M249 SAW with a full auto M-16. Same effect. Less weight.

Nam, not 100% sure. And I know you are a weapon encyclopedia. The USMC version of the 240B has a buttplate similar to the M2. Our version like the one in your photo is the G version.

Is this just a USMC thing??

I dig the M240.

I only fixate on the M60 because my dad was qualified after Parris Island and may have operated in Vietnam. He was primarily a mortar speciaist, but when I got RnR as an 8 year old, the thing that stands out was my dad telling me he had used M60's in the Marines (something he absolutely did not talk about ever).

He didn't even come with an M-60.

At best, it's some weird amalgam of an M-60 stock and front grip with an MG-3.

Besides, the M-60 is barely even used anymore, and Sideshow's going for contemporary weapons, for the most part.

Maybe the best thing would be to give him a newer MG design, as I will admit that MG-3 is an OLD design, but I can't think of any off the top of my head. Maybe an M-240, but that seems a little boring to me...

that is the front of a mg42 circa german ww2

I know SF can use whatever weapons they chose, but belts of NATO 7.62 would be considerably easier to come by than the 7.92 that the 42 uses. :huh

this is true, but in all honestly i doubt they would use either one. just hope the updated r&r will keep the ammo belts.
