That's what happens when you "pause" the Indiana Jones line.

Maybe. Or perhaps they realized that they were threatening with squandering the momentum that the G.I. JOE line has going for it as well. We should all be thankful that there wasn't a Faramir or German Indy in this line when it was moving at a snails pace.

The point isn't to get into a stupid G.I. JOE vs INDY debate. It's to point out that no Sideshow 12" line (outside of SW, because it has enough collector proles who will buy anything) can be taken for granted. If they kill momentum by slowing down the pace and releasing characters no one really wants and figures with QC issues, the line will die. It happened to LOTR. And now it's happened to INDY. Thankfully, we've only really had to endure pacing issues on G.I. JOE to this point (I'm going to give them a mulligan on Cherry Cobra Commander, because the other figures kick ass... even Non-Camo Firefly). If they do indeed release 6+ figures next year and they're all characters we want and turn into satisfying figures with no QC issues then this line will really have some legs.

Regardless, the ball is in Sideshow's court.

Can I get a "touche?" :lol

Mulligan, dude... mulligan. :lol

I do HATE that stupid, worthless figure as much as anyone (it's the only one in the line I've happily passed on). But since it was a SDCC Exclusive I'll give them the mulligan... this one time.

Since we've gotten 5 figures and 1 Environment so far this year (7 figures if you count Timber and CCC) 6 really isn't much of a bump for next year. Sure one of those 5 is a Trooper variant, but considering most of those figures have come since July, the 3rd and 4th Qtrs of this year have been heavily packed.

I'm glad to hear this line is doing well and that we'll be seeing more figures. I think the problem with starting out at a slow pace is that casual collectors might not pick up more figures because they fear they'll only end up with a figure or 2 before the line dies. So why bother? But going too fast and people will cancel because they aren't getting enough time to fund the next figure. So it is a tricky balance act. But to me it seems like Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander came out at a decent pace, but since SDCC it seems like I've gotten a Joe in hand and get a incoming notice the next day. Never much of a break. Not that I've minded, but for those on budgets or collecting multiple lines from multiple companies, it can get tough to juggle everything.

But more figures is always good news to me :rock

I wonder who the first female will be. Personally I'd want Baroness to help round out the Cobra High Command (Her, Destro, and CC), but I guess Scarlett could get that spot as well. Maybe even Lady Jay? But hey, who cares really? Zartan is coming! :rock

I doubt it'll be THE BARONESS because we would need DESTRO first and then THE BARONESS.

My $ is on SCARLETT because she'll compliment DUKE and/or SNAKE EYES depending on which relationship angle you're aiming for (i.e. the cartoon or the comic book series). Maybe we'll still get a RIPCORD figure, but using Marlon Wayans head to go with the GI JOE: TROC motif? :D

Unlikely it's LADY JAYE because there is no FLINT figure . . . yet.

Then again Sideshow can throw us a curve ball and give us COVER GIRL.

IIRC . . . the teaser video from a year ago . . . didn't that show SCARLETT?

My money is on Scarlett and if they get Andy Bergholtz to sculpt her as awesomely as he did with Dana Scully this figure will be a knockout.

Yeah, Scarlett was in the preview trailer, but so was the Baroness. And if Zartan is already in the works and Shockwave soon, why not Destro already? But I do think it is a safe bet it will either be Scarlett or Baroness. Both have potential for being the first.

Now that I think of it though, I want to say one of the Q/As asked about female characters before and I think they said Baroness wouldn't be the first one. So maybe it will be Scarlett afterall.

OK so we get 6 figures in 2010 .
BUT does that include the already shown and planned
Duke
Fire Fly
and Cobra Sniper .....

So does that mean we are actually only going to have three new figures "ready" in 2010 .. or will it be nine .. six new ones plus the three we know we are getting ??

Agree and I think she would look fine even on the female buck.

Don't forget the inevitable SDCC exclusive...

How "updated" would be acceptable on Scarlett? Does she have to be in a cat suit? The Snowbunny Padme is not very flattering on the female buck.
