And once they make Scarlett, Destro, and the Baroness (and possibly Zartan) then the line wouldn't really feel incomplete no matter when they cancelled it. Of course there are tons of favorites throughout the years but everyone after those four is pretty much gravy.

Likely though, they'll hang onto a couple and offer at least one up before canceling. After all, it wouldn't be Sideshow if the line wasn't canceled without having produced a key character or 4.

Agreed, although I would probably add General Hawk to that list and maybe Flint. Seeing as how we know Beach Head is coming, if I had Beach Head but not those two I would feel the line is incomplete. Gotta have the main leaders.

Agree 100%. Once Snake Eyes, Duke, Scarlett, Cobra Commander, Destro, Baroness, Zartan and Storm Shadow are all released there will be a real sense that all the core characters are represented in the collection. Stalker and Firefly would round out my top 10. If those were all sitting together in my collection I'd be pretty damn stoked.
Obviously, I feel that Flint is an essential member as well, and I suspect fans of the cartoon would feel similarly (he was really the "leader" for the bulk of the episodes), but apart from that, sure--Destro, Baroness, Scarlett would be the most necessary remaining characters. Based again on the cartoon, Zartan would also be included, and possibly Shipwreck. If you go on the early comics, Hawk would also be important to include.
I personally don't feel that Firefly would be an "essential," core member, though he is certainly a fan favorite. Storm Shadow is a toss up. Based on the comics he is, but not based on the cartoon.

The Marvel comic book series focused primarily on the original starting line up primarily through the first 20 issues or so before it started to integrate new characters (JOES & COBRA) into the storyline as new figures/vehicles were produced and released for the toyline.
So basically . . . Sideshow could very design and produce in essence a core group of characters encompassing the cartoon and comic book series with appropriate modernizations here and there.
Maybe Sideshow could be receptive to a fan favorite vote where we can vote on a character for them to design and produce?
I don't think a Joe line would be "incomplete" if it included the characters I mentioned and left Flint out but I do agree that after them he'd probably be next in line based on his exposure in Season 1 of the cartoon.
It'd be cool if they did the remaining romantic couples (Flint/Lady Jaye and Falcon/Jinx) as well as the "buddies" (Alpine/Bazooka, Tomax/Xamot, etc.)

I'd rather have Hawk and Duke (who we're already getting) before Flint as well. While he is a great Joe character, I do think there are others who take priority.
Speaking of couples did they ever have Cover Girl hook up with anyone on the show?

TBH, the only thing I remember from sailors and those days are sore knuckles and stern dress downs.
