Im gonna cancel all of my pre-orders, i bought killzone 3 collectors edition on release day and its already down by £11, Dead Space 2 "limited edition" which i was gonna cancel and wait abit but kept because it was supposed to be "limited" and i still havent opened yet (waiting for my surround sound first) has gone down from £38 to £24 already.

So thats it for me i'll wait a few weeks and boom i'll save a bunch of money while the retailers fight each other for the cheapest on the market.

I've got the Duke Nukem: Balls of Steel edition on order and thats supposed to be very limited but I'm sure there are going to end up being plenty to go around. So it will drop in price very soon after I get mine and it sucks but thats the way it goes. I guess I don't want to take the 1 in a million chance that THIS is the one that really will be limited and get hozed if I don't order right away.

Think of it this way, in 20-ish years those limited editions might actually be worth something. I remember back in the day, a lot of games that are considered rare now languished in bargain bins when they were first released. Panzer Dragoon Saga for Sega Saturn? Picked up a copy for $15 a few months after it released. It's now worth $200.

:lol Trying to make myself feel okay with paying full price for Bioshock 2's limited edition only to see it drop to less than 50% a month after release.

Do you guys over in the UK have to pay full price for your pre-orders? It seems that your issue stems more from needing to buying the games first-day rather than waiting.

I noticed that. I was at Target a while back, and saw that for $40 or $50. That sucker was $90 when it first came out. And didn't it only have a vinyl record and 3 posters?? A Vinyl record?!?! I mean, I get it, it's an aesthetics thing. . . but really, who the hell has a record player anymore??

The limited edition video games will always drop in price very quickly. And they're not so limited--they make many thousands of them. They must have made at least 500,000 of the Legendary edition of Halo 3

Don't sweat it dude. The Halo: Reach Legendary Edition is still sitting at my Best Buy store for $59!!! I'm really considering picking it up just for the cool looking statue. The thing I realized a while ago about collecting is that you should only worry about what the things mean to you, and what they're worth in your eyes. If you keep stressing what they're selling for on Ebay and stuff you'll slowly start to lose the fun in collecting.

They should call them "sucker editions"

The only preorder that I ever done was the special edition PS3 Marvel VS Capcom3. The PS3 version is so hard to find anywhere

I haven't preordered a game in a long time, and a collectors edition?... even longer.

There's no pay off anymore, I'm left with a bunch of shat I don't use.

I really don't see the point of pre-orders for games. Are people so desperate that they have to make sure they get one on release day?

For collectible toys, figures etc I understand cuz if u snooze you pay secondary market price. But for games just wait a week, you'll definitely get a copy.

And the preorder bonuses are no big deal.

I stopped buying "LE" games.

There are a few that have benefited me though... I sold my Bioshock LE and Mass Effect LE for $150 and $115 respectively.

Who the f cares? They are video games, your collecting them? And your mad because they aren't going up in value in a digital world where people can download them on sale on steam for $4 without ever leaving their homes?

I don't see the point in preordering a video game. Especially overpaying for some special edtion that has some trinket to set on a shelf. Pretty much every game can be had for half price or less within a year.
