How are you guys planning on displaying Ghoel so he's somewhat close to his proper positioning?

I wish the figure was a more brown color like the pic there. He is pretty purple on mine. BTW, on the CD-Rom turnarounds from SDCC and the 5.1 disc, the Jabba throne turn around has Ghoel attached to the side of the throne oposite of the pipe. I guess the throne must also have magnet or metal piece in it somewhere for this to happen.

Is that a shot from the movie?

Because I sure as heck don't remember ever having seen that before...

As many times as I have seen Jedi, I don't remember that either. Was it a SE add in?

That's an on-set still, not an actual frame from the film. But it is in there, I believe. But if I recall you only really see part of the tongue onscreen.

So, I just got done painting the interior of the shelf above my computer that I'll be displaying Jabba within, as well as putting in the lighting:

I used Ralph Lauren River Rock-Buckeye paint, which I purchased at Home Depot. Here's a closer shot to give a better idea of what the texture is like:

<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/metaphorge/382333250/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="https://farm1.static.flickr.com/151/382333250_a822a0d8af.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="DSCF1550" /></a>

I still need to get a large board to extend the shelf outwards a bit, since it is not quite deep enough for him as-is. I also plan to build the stairs on either side of the throne to allow for more display space, but I'll have to do that once I have the throne and can make exact measurements.

I'm also considering getting someone to draw the grill as a partial backdrop.

I decided to go with this set up. It's 3 IKEA Lack mid size coffee tables stacked with the second shelf uninstalled. I drilled holes on the bottom of the feet and on the table top corners. I then inserted metal pins to secure the tables. They cost 24.99 a pop and I love it. It even matches the Detolfs. Now I just need Jabba and to straighten this room up!

very very inventive use of the Lack coffee tables. We have one of those in the corner of our living room with a light on it... but that's clever :D
