Painting the armored batman up . Will be doing a few more bits to this , New cape..... here he is at the moment

That's great! What paint are you using to achieve that look?

Using acrylics and a chrome spray paint. Iv knocked the chrome back quite a bit tho so it looks more gun metal.... multiple layers....
Might be trying somthinga little risky with it soon but i think it will look great. Will post some better pics once iv done it.

Wow, that's looking great! Good job on the face as well. I'm still amazed at how, after even just a little effort, these Jakks figures become really nice display pieces.

Thanks bud. Yeah your right. Some are so so but these and a lot of the star wars line are awesome. They just need a bit of time spent with them :)

Here's my take. I had a hard time doing the scratches and dents on the authentic Jakk's body, so I ended up getting the KO version and used its body instead. I now plan to use the authentic Jakks for a cleaner version (+KO head) with the Black Chrome color scheme ala Hot Toys.

I used Epoxy Clay to help widen his leg stance and arms spread wider. The KO version's body is vinyl like the authentic version's head, albeit thicker, but it was easier to cut the scratches on it using an exacto knife. It sucks that the belt though was recasted with the body unlike the separate belt the authentic one has. I was also able to cut through the body in-between the buckles for the bodystrap so I could insert real fabric strap from an old satchel. I also re-sculpted the crotch armor -- I wasn't able to replicate the accurate shape and contour thus it looks bigger than it should, but in hand it's okay. The one thing I find better on the KO is how they got the cuffs on his hands out, not deeply inserted on the forearm like on the authentic Jakks.

Stubbles I might add eventually, but I gotta find a real fine brush for it. Here are the pictures -- he looks great even next to the Premium Format, IMO.

Where can I get the knock off version of armored Batman? If it's vinyl then I'm guessing i could cut the plates and put them on my neca affleck batman to make an poseable armored Batman.

hahaha I was thinking of doing the same thing but I don't think it will work. The NECA is slightly more massive than the Jakks.

Just finished my rework of the armored Batman. Lots of fun, and a pretty great figure with a little work.

Looks amazing! I really like that "metal" look you gave the armor.
I just picked up one of the Armored Batman figures to try my hand at customizing. It'll be my first time trying something like this. I'll make sure to post pics when I finish!

Please do. These are fun figures to customize because the sculpts are really well done...just the paint that falls short. Also, take your time. It's worth the extra time to add some little details.

Removed Neca's Affleck head replaced it with Jakk's Batman. Definitely a bit smaller but much better than what it had before.

I'll be repainting this and replacing the cape with pleather soon. Just wanted to share this custom which I think is still under the jakks category although just using the head.

I was wondering when someone would do something like that. It looks a lot better, and I can't wait to see the finished product!
