I spent the evening opening & setting up a couple of DID MI6 Agent “Jack” figures I purchased recently.
I like many was anticipating this figure since it was announced by DID. There has been much discussion here & elsewhere about the head sculpt likeness to Daniel Craig. In addition, early pictures from China/Hong Kong initially made it appear the quality was flawed before better in hand pictures alleviated concerns many had.
With the figure hitting stateside and now being available from the usual sources, collectors are chiming in with their satisfaction ranging from mixed to positive reviews.
This is my very first DID figure and I am very satisfied with it. I’m not going to bother showing pictures of the box and contents because we’ve already seen them online.
The head sculpt in hand is very good, but it’s not 100% accurate and does not precisely match the pictures DID used in marketing & promoting the figure. It’s close, but still off. In hand, I’d say the likeness to Daniel Craig is about 80% to 90% based on one’s perspective.
The paint application on the head sculpt is superb and I cannot purposely find any fault with the ones I have. I will say that based on pictures posted online by others, this particular head sculpt is hard to capture properly. In hand, the head sculpt is very good, but it does not translate well in pictures based on angles & lighting.
The fit of the tuxedo suit is exceptional. The cut & material is excellent and does not feel cheap in any way.
A highlight of the figure is the Walther PPK pistol. It comes with two clips, a silencer, and the shoulder holster rig. Be very careful with the shoulder holster rig because it has hooks that latches onto the pants so be very careful when undressing the figure (i.e. don’t pull off the pants immediately). The pistol itself upon closer examination appears a bit undersized which appears to be a common observation by some, but overall it’s still done very well.
I broke down a second one so I can dress it using a different suit. I used a TOYS CITY men’s business suit and the fit is perfect. I’m quite impressed with the DID all era body. It’s on par with the HT TTM 22 (slim) body with some differences; moreover, it’s a bit taller.
I plan to open up a few more so I can kit bash them using different outfits & suits.
I’ve seen this figure being offered by the usual sources starting around $100.00 and up. I really recommend this figure to anyone who is a James Bond collector/enthusiast. It’s reasonably priced and definitely a highlight & worthwhile figure in my collection.
That’s it. I hope others will chime in with their comments & reviews as well.
