Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD
You may have just persuaded me to buy this and use it instead of my bbkill sculpt!
It doesn't hold a candle to BBKill's nor Inigo's in hand. Raymond's photo with that angle and right amount of shadow is the exception rather than the rule for what this looks like. In other words, it looks better in his photo than it does in person.
It's also not big, it's absolutely ENORMOUS.
Even before taking the tissue wrapper off it, just holding it in my hand, I could tell it was grossly oversized. Here's the saving grace for some photos (but something that makes it even worse in person), the facial features aren't oversized nor are their proportions and spacing. It's the rest of the head toward the back especially and width of the neck, that's ballooned to a ridiculous level. IMO, that accentuates the rather pointy face even more. The neck is so wide it doesn't fit the opening in a Hot Toys TTM-21, though you can force it and it's about 2mm larger diameter than a number of other heads I have readily on hand to compare to.
The paint application while decent is also excessively dark - if you were making a coal-miner figure this would be a good start, but for an Englishman? Not a chance. Unless some of the other heads are different due to gross paint application discrepancies, the only way he appears with a decent complexion is when blasted with light.
Overall, a huge let down for me, I expected more (rather less
). Robert is right, this is, if you have one of the good Craigs out there, one for the bin. If you want to upgrade, you might want to wait until Rocco has a crack at it.
It looks decent in this photo:
