January 8th Massive Ordering Newsletter?

Huh....we know that SSC said no orders for two weeks in Newsletters but a lot has premiered and been shown since then....will we see a glutton of orders on this date? The possibilities would be:

• Hot Toys Planet of the Apes General Ursus
• Hot Toys Planet of the Apes Gorilla Soldier
• Hot Toys Planet of the Apes Gorilla Captain (Sideshow Exclusive)
• Hot Toys Predator
• Hot Toys Predator Billy Sole
• Hot Toys Predator Dutch (Sideshow Exclusive)
• Daredevil vs Punisher Dio
• The Dead Patient Zero Premium Format (Longshot)
• Star Wars Admiral Piett
• Aliens Queen Facehugger Life Size Maquette

The HT stuff, Piett and Facehugger were all teased in the December 18th NL especially with The Sandtrooper on PPO on the 9th which means Piett is probably an NL order. The PZ is probably still a longshot for ordering next week but even with that gone that is a massive list and I know I'm missing something...

I don't think the HT Predator or POTA figures have been previewed in a newsletter yet, so it could be that those will be previewed next week and then up for order the following week. It's very unlike Sideshow to put stuff up for order without a preview first.

There is an exlusive to Toy Hunters (i think that's right), and I guess those end up being SSC exclusives. The item is Dutch's headset from the helicopter when the mission first starts.

has that been confirmed & what is the exclusive?

I forget who in in the POTA confirmed it but its the reason that we haven't seen the Gorilla Captain orderable from anywhere yet because its a SSC Site Exclusive.

The Dutch "Exclusive" is the headset which like the Mark 02 which has the Pedestal with Armor Display was a ToyHunter's Exclusive and we've already seen in the TH window that the headset will be the exclusive there.

That was just an announcement. Sideshow almost always previews the specific pieces before putting them up for order.

That stuff (other than the red polo, which I'm sure could be picked up somewhere) would be easy enough to kitbash.

Actually when HT beats them to the preview, they usually don't put up a tease, just go straight to pre-order. But I doubt we'll all these things in the first week.

I hope I am wrong but I think Sideshow dropped the ball on not offering any pre-orders until after the Holidays. The new Hot Toys releases are up for pre-order all over Ebay. I am waiting on Sideshow just to support them but I think they may have hurt themselves on this one. Hope I am wrong.

The HT stuff is just distributed. Looking at the prices around and at the prices at SSC normally for HT stuff the profit margin has to be fairly modest considering the shipping costs from Hong Kong, etc. I always viewed SSC offering HT stuff as a kudos to the supporters of SSC who collect these so they don't have to deal with eBay or stores they are unaccustomed with. Not to mention the cheaper shipping options from SSC for a lot and the customer service.
