I don't know, they said at SDCC (after they showed a slide of the in-progress Part 3 PF) that they just decided to start from scratch and go in another creative direction...

Maybe they just don't realize that modern, hulky zombie Jason sucks.

None of that changes the fact that 1) Jason himself is not at all the Jason most of us want, and 2) It's just a polystone statue, not a mixed-media PF. It'll also probably be smaller than 1/4.
