1. It's not the same situation because Jazz are already committed to the Catwoman project so if HT announces theirs, it makes no sense for Jazz to just cancel.

2. I don't think most people would just go for Hot Toys, only those that want a cheaper version would, but not those that want the best version possible and we'd have to see what Hot Toys' version looks like first.

Apart from their third party Vulture from years ago (with no human likeness nor complex tailoring like Catwoman), we don’t even know what a JazzInc figure looks like upon release.

If Hot Toys announced a Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman, with 2-3 alternate mouthplates, rolling eyes, and either an alternate battle damaged or unmasked head, all in the same box, and it looked great, I’d be tempted to cancel JazzInc’s.

It’s nothing personal at all, I just want whatever looks best, is the best value, and feels safest. I have Hot Toys figures and know roughly what to expect from them.

Totally understand where you're coming from, I don't disagree. But even if we feel safer going with Hot Toys, I'm not convinced of their quality either, I just got into this hobby in 2024 so I'm not as seasoned but that doesn't matter because I've seen enough - my Batman 2022 mouth plate magnets falling out, my fragile Tumbler having parts break off. These are just my stuff, others I've seen online with Deadpool ankles and now the Artisan Joker fiasco.

It's all relative actually, Hot Toys is cheaper but they're not high quality across the board for their figs. I will still buy HT, but for Jazzinc they know with their first figure they have to deliver otherwise myself and most of us will not buy another one of theirs if it's a massive fail.

The logical decision is to drop further development on Freeze as most of the market for that figure will PO with HT. The robe version has also been done successfully and now has a 2nd run.

Better to fast-track Ivy now as I doubt HT will make her. Many people who order Freeze will now want Ivy, so this HT move might actually boost Ivy sales. Plus, the knowledge gained on Catwoman should benefit Ivy as well.

I doubt Hot Toys will make Ivy either, but a lot of people said they'd never make anything from Batman & Robin. Now we got 3 figures. I don't think it's going to happen, but I won't be shocked if Hot Toys makes a super limited Artisan edition Poison Ivy.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Hot Toys made her. I wasn’t around during the time when they teased all those things that never came to fruition. And reissuing the 89 Batmobile last year with absolutely no changes is very coincidental.

Can HT make a long leggy lanky girl body? Or will they slap Ivy onto a short, Widow body?

I would be surprised if HT made Ivy... just as I was when they did Freeze... but they did make Freeze.

Again, though, I think HT making Freeze had more to do with sending a message than them always planning to release this. Also, HT wants to protect its "Arnold" likeness rights for all sorts of reasons.

Look, there's risk in making any Batman 1/6th figures... not just from HT, but from Mars, SooSoo, Eternal, and many others.

I believe there are a couple of factors that would determine if Jazz Inc would make a certain figure based off of whether another company has or would do it. It would have to do a lot with the popularity of a character, whether they could improve significantly on the other offering, and timing. In the case of Mr Freeze, it wouldn’t make much sense for Jazz Inc to do it now, seeing as the hot toys proto is a solid offering, and he’s not a hugely popular figure like Catwoman.

With Catwoman, there has been a big demand for a licensed figure for a long time. Even if hot toys were to announce one, I’m sure there are many that feel Jazz Inc would be better especially with their custom body, and they may even buy both like some did with the Batman.

Another example is with Inart, where they said recently they don’t feel a need to make a DKR Bane since they feel the hot toys offering was good enough already. With Jazz Inc, I think it makes sense for them to react in certain cases to what other companies are making from a business standpoint.

3 main Poison Ivy looks (Spring, Summer and Autumn)... plus the prison "Winter" look... plus 2 Pamela looks.

About Jazz Cat cancel or not if HT shows another one...

Jazz Catwoman is Sean Dabbs portrait (I have the old one and it's superb after ¿10? years), I highly doubt HT can beat it.

HT will not do a custom body or expressions as detailed as Jazz. Doesn’t mean they couldn’t pull out a great figure - but Jazz’s is excellent expression and body proportions wise.

As for Ivy, a taller Uma style body would be great - but i actually think they could pull off using an already slim taller body that’s already been made imo.

can someone post pics of which look is which
what is the one where she as ''horns''?
The horns is Summer.

The no horns, leaf leotard monkey dance is Spring.

The red batgirls vs Ivy fight at the end is Autumn.

Genuine question, do you only look to compliment what Hot Toys do or don’t do? What if they decide to announce ‘92 Catwoman tonight? Will you consider cancelling your product since most people would definitely look to cancel it in favor of Hot Toys (speculation/opinion based on observations/trends on the community). On the flip side, why not stand by your product regardless of what other companies do or don’t do?
In most cases, yes we want to complement. But in case of the catwoman, we would NEVER cancel. Even if Hot Toys would announce. Based on their behaviour in the past, I'm expecting it. Even if it were just a tease.

But, I have calculated a hot toys catwoman into the production numbers. If they don't, then sales will be higher and I can do a free upgrade or extra accessory. And if Hot Toys does announce theirs, even if we sell no more units and get some cancellations, we will still be fine. They will be different products, as I don't see them making a custom seamless body, or 6 headsculpts or such powerful expressions, or such a big diorama.

We have seen with the 1989 batmobile, that it wont hurt sales too much. I think, in the end, it helped sales when pictures of our product next to Hot Toys appeared because our sales soared then. I really dont expect a large percentage to cancel. They didn't with the 1989 batmobile, even when Hot Toys announced theirs after we announced ours at half the price, back when people were expecting them to make changes and improvements to their original release.

Now, for mr Freeze, that will never be as popular as Pfeiffer catwoman to begin with and with the armour and lights, it will also be a difficult figure. So if Hot Toys is doing that before we have done any work on it, it makes no sense to do it. Plenty to do, so I'll focus on that instead.

So in short I completely agree with High on Figures
