It's no secret that his personal life is a mess, and he is really really tough on his actors... but damn does he know how to make good movies. If he suffers a few more divorces in order to keep honing his craft and give us amazing movies, I'm OK with that!

I suppose thats true. But I think he could get away with it in conjunction with the goatee - its the look he had back when he was making Titanic and there was nothing lesbonic about that. Right now though I can't help but think 'ageing lesbian' with that hair and the bit of turkey neck he has these days.

That article is really interesting to read. He has this harem of wives and ex-wives, and he seems to switch from one to the other as his mood fits him. The women don't seem to mind, and in fact are apparently vying for his affections and feeling like "winners" or "losers" based on whether he chooses to go with them or not.

Thinking of all the massive egos involved, it isn't surprising that these people have strange, dysfunctional relationships. But the fact that these women seem to treat him like a prize and are willing to keep coming back to him at his whim is really strange to hear about.

If I were as rich and famous as Cameron, I probably wouldn't ever get married at all. Nor would I stay with a woman after she turned 23 or so. But, different strokes for different folks. He probably deludes himself into thinking each relationship will work at some point, even though he is really fickle and only seems to get involved with headstrong women.

Sounds like Hugh Hefner! Except his cut-off point is a bit higher, up to the late thirties I think....god that sickens me. I'm jealous as hell but also sickened that you have teenagers with this old man all because of who he is and his empire. How come you never see rich eighty-something year old women with 18-30 year old men? Why is this situation acceptable? Not that I'm volunteering myself for an 80 year old woman but why is it different. How is it that girls can let the "oh my god hes old enough to die any day now" thing go.

He created Terminator. I am bound to love the man for all of my time on earth for that alone. I also love Aliens and his other films including Titanic. Though I agree about Avatar. I enjoyed it a great deal but I don't know that it deserves Best Picture. If the Oscars want to give awards to the sci-fi/fantasy genre then TDK last year would have been the better choice IMO but they missed the chance.

I agree with you a-dev, except not a great fan of titanic. James cameron is no doubt an intelligent man, he released avatar in december, there is no competition from any other big blockbuster movies during that time and that means a lot of money and staying in No. 1 for SEVEN weeks!!!
Although this movie was entertaining I have come to dislike this movie even more as it is not the greatest sci-fi movie EVER!
TDK deserved to get awarded for best picture last year and possibly to win it. Not Avatar, I think people are nuts, I dont care for the special effects, the story was not that great. That is the most important in movies, STORY.

I kinda stole that notion of a man looking like a lesbian from a section in Loaded magazine in the UK, at least I think it was Loaded. Yep it was basically just a page of the mag where people could point out male celebs who look like ageing lesbians.

Avatar isnt the greatest movie ever. Only an idiot would say that.

Still, Cameron is still one of my favorite directors. Aliens, Terminator, T2, True Lies...all amazing.

This movie is SO corny it's not even funny. From the "king of the world" to the ending where the body guard guy is so obsessed with Leo that on a sinking ship where he's probably going to die he chases him down into the ship to handcuff him down there? Please. It was just SO corny and had way too much "created drama" that had nothing to do with the actual story of the ship. It was just goofy IMO.
