Overwhelming majority prefers it. Some people might think Snyder took some from Whedon, but the the whole movie was already set up for Whedon to being with. Anything that was cheesy and looking for a cheap laugh, obviously was Whedon. Wow, do those previous/current WB execs sure look stupid now lol.

Maybe, but the 2017 release still made @$660M worldwide. No one knows what a 100% Snyder version would have raked in if he'd had to trim it to @2 hours (and cut out all the R-rated content). This 4 hour version was never going to be released, so there's no way to prove that one way or the other.

BvS got destroyed by critics, yet it still made 873mil. This was the whole JL, it would've made at least 800mil. When you see that Bizarro Superman at the beginning in Whedon's cut, you knew you were in for a bad experience. Most people would take a Snyder 2 hour cut compared to Whedon massacring someone else's serious film any time.

How about being an exec and letting someone film a movie that will have to be cut down significantly? Perhaps you might want to discuss the movie and let them know you want it at 2 hours? How about you read the script since you are spending 250 mil on it? Those clowns don't know how to run a studio.

I agree that a 100% Snyder Cut at say a 2.5 hour run time PROBABLY would have made $800M to $1.0M back then (maybe more), but we're still just speculating. His shortened version, while likely much more coherent, likely would have also encountered the character development and narrative shortcut problems that doomed the other version. I agree that after the BvS experience the execs at WB PROBABLY didn't have Snyder on a short leash early enough in the JL process. But communication's a two-way street, so Snyder PROBABLY didn't make them aware of how long he anticipated his cut was going to run until they were well down the road with the production. I've been sympathetic to Snyder's situation (especially in light of his daughter's tragic death & as the extent of WB's spin-doctoring/lying has come to light), but that doesn't mean he's completely without fault for how events unfolded. With cluster****s of this magnitude, there's usually plenty of blame to go around. And frankly, IMO his playing the martyr on social media and in the press has gotten a bit old.

Well Zack did admit that he kept filming what he wanted in defiance of what execs wanted during JL filming, but he might have felt like they signed off on what he wanted then they reneged on him. Not sure why he couldn't stick to the runtimes of Man of Steel, which is 2h 28min. That seems like a good length for theaters and to say what he needs to say. Avengers 1-3 were about that time and Endgame at the longest was 3 hr. Just too many introductions in one film.

Yes, that's been the problem with the DCEU starting with BvS - they were in too big of a hurry to catch up to Marvel. They had the MCU template to follow and the characters to build up to JL the right way, but they simply didn't have the patience to do it. They needed a Kevin Feige type to lay out a plan and guide them, but apparently there's only one Feige. If only they'd followed up MoS with a Batfleck movie, then WW and Aquaman (maybe a Flash movie too). They could have planted the seeds for Steppenwolf/Darkseid along the way in a much more coherent manner and been ramping up to their epic team-up movie while the MCU was resetting after Endgame. Alas, what might have been...

I'm at the 2 hour mark and....

Wonder Woman theme (girl singing) is like fingernails across a chalk board (bother me) - im pretty sure is in both cuts
Wonder Woman hair in a ponytail always bothered me. Actress has such fine light hair that it makes her face huge with just a little hair on top - yeah I know its in both version
Movie looks so fake with the green screen backgrounds that you cannot take anything seriously. WW home town running with the box sequence (joke)
Steppenwolf (spelling?) looks much better but I keep thinking about Marvel and Thanos

Still waiting for Superman.... :)

A Superman superfan I know loved Josstice League cos Supes was at the centre of it. He makes the point that had Snyder finished it and cut it down to studio requirements, it might not have been much different.

How about this.. I recognize that the ZS version is the better film.

But I enjoyed the original more on first viewing.

Question is. How would I have felt about the ZS version if I never saw the JW version.. I might have really loved it.

As is a lot of the mystery was gone since they are basically the same film story wise. So I will never get to enjoy ZS the way I should have.

BUT I really dislike the original now after a 2nd and third viewing.. Which helped me enjoy the ZS version more than i might have.

Its all very tricky :lol

How can u like the original after Batman gave that doofy looking smile . The Snyder cut is light years better. And it?s not uber dark either .

The Snyder Cut is like light years without light speed.

I'm not pooping on it but the amount of indulgent padding and even-less-likeable Cyborg make me unsure which version I would call "better."

Wow, nailed it! That's it in a nutshell. There's a great superhero movie in there, but it's obscured by unnecessary and/or prolonged scenes, too much focus on one character and Snyder's need to set up the next story before he's told this one. Also, its narrative momentum gets stalled every time it jumps from one character to another to either demonstrate their abilities (Flash) or portray their individual struggles in becoming a hero (Cyborg, Aquaman), both things that should have been addressed in solo movies prior to JL even being made. IMO. :D

Cyborg is a ****** whiny brat in the original version, he?s more developed and laid out on the why?s in this one.

I also didn?t like the Bruce/Diana love triangle that the first one especially the push to be a leader, where as the ZS everyone had the same amount of input. IMHO

There?s a video on YouTube by midnights edge discussing why there?s such a ref going on whether or not they?ll continue the Snyder-verse or not. Very eye opening as to why most of the studios are calling us fans toxic etc...
