I actually think the InArt sculpt looks more like Hathaway even in this rudimentary prototype. There's something about JND's silicone sculpts that just don't sit right with me.
I wasn’t specifically referring to which will get the likeness right in the end, that has yet to be seen.

My point was that neither the Hot Toys or InArt appear realistic, that’s both body proportions and sculpt. They both look third party with zero noteworthy features to each of them. You never want to see a prototype sculpt that soft. InArt has the worst elbow joint mankind has ever seen in the scale on theirs.

It’s the reason I’ve never even thought about having any female characters in my collection. They never look right. This JND offering is genuinely the first time I’ve got that realism feeling to this degree.

The Maid looks so good they’ve got people contemplating and actually desiring it.
That speaks on quality.

“Third party” lol. Hot Toys, maybe, and even then it doesn’t look like third party schlock.

INART’s proto reveal is a rough initial sculpt. I’d reserve judgment until it’s officially announced at least.

You don’t do that for this piece.
So I’ll pass, that Phoenix Joker dropped the ball.
What? That I’m also jumping the gun here? Needlessly speculating like everyone else does around here? I’m basing my opinions of Kojun’s Catwoman so far based on every prior Kojun piece that’s come before. But you’re right, I’ll reserve my true thoughts until we see the official reveal.

In regards to INART’s Phoenix Joker we’ll agree to disagree.

Yeah it's impressive, but it's easily gonna cost over $1000 for the duo.
Who cares though.

At least there’s the promise of no drop off in production.

This looks like something worth that price.

The proportions are so good, people can’t help but believe it’s a statue, nothing to do with the TDK Batsuit being one, either.

I’d buy this before spending $500 on InArt’s rooted premium version that will vary every figure between hair and paint application, not to mention downgrades in suit materials and tailoring.

If you were one of the ones who bought HT two previous attempts, now looking at InArt to buy,
you’ve purchased one of these already.

But that's the thing - 'promises.' We’ve yet to see a 1/6 in-hand figure by JND, so it’s hard to judge. Spending $1k on this (if it is close to that price) would definitely make people think twice and for sure care. No figure is truly worth that amount, but it'll still "sell out" by JND standards, the JNDizers, will for sure pay, even if deep down they know it's not right lol.

That said, I haven’t owned or bought any Catwomans before, but I’ll admit this is the best-looking one I’ve seen so far. I do think Inart is a little overrated, having received 3 of their figures, I was abit disappointed on how Aragorn turned out.

The proportions are not that good.

No Kojun Works figure has been released yet; it remains to be seen what the Final production versions will look like. Also, given your claim and assumptions are based on their statues, it’s incredibly irrelevant when the solicited and “promised” portrait likenesses are not even that good to begin with. So why does it matter if it holds till Final Production?

For INART Catwoman (TDKR Catwoman in general), the hair is straight with minimal wave to it. Hard to eff that up and variance will be low(er). Again, why jump the gun here (you love to do this), talking like you know how it’s going to go.

I’m a broken record, but every licensed mass produced product degrades. Kojun just might as well. Pump the brakes.

Don't say such things :thwak The InArt police will come for you

It looks a little cartoonish to me. Not by a lot, but maybe just a slight 10% or so which is enough to make it feel inaccurate and a bit off-putting. There's definitely some artistic interpretation of the character and when I say "cartoonish" I mean in a slight Anime/Manga way, which is often the case with Asian designs of figures. I remember the old days when Medicom and even Hot Toys figures looked like Anime/Manga versions of an actor/character and for some reason we were fine with that. I guess we didn't know any better or have any other options when it comes to approaching accuracy.

I agree, and I think that stylized approach works for their Girls Revolution Hikaru and Yui (which I think look great and I've preordered), but for real actors it loses me in some instances, like I think their Harry Potter figures look like caricatures. I might get this even if it's a bit cartoonish since it doesn't bother me so much with female characters, but probably only if they make a non-silicone version, I think their sculpted Hikaru and Yui look a bit better than the silicone. Even if they make a sculpted version I might consider getting the silicone version of this if the price isn't too crazy, depending on how it looks maskless which I guess they'll show at the last minute lol

Of course, from a wide lens, it’s absolutely not worth $1K, but the same argument can be made about the InArt figure not being worth $500.

If we’re to believe these to be worth their asking price, then it makes sense for this JND figure to cost more than the InArt offering, as everything included isn’t your typical materials you’d see in production from any other company.

Glass eyes? Seamless jointed silicone head with fully realized skull and body with inner skeleton? Every piece developed, painted and assembled in house? You have to pay for that, why would they match InArt’s pricing if at the very least, InArt won’t match their tech nor their materials?

Another thing most fail to realize, all of their pieces are numbered and limited beyond that of any of their competitors. It is likely extremely expensive to produce less than 1K units, in house, having to know the right amount of materials to put stock into, etc. They don’t have an experienced factory to help them figure out the process. It is all up to them.

Their Harry looks like a caricature boy with a Hispanic element to it. Likeness is not good at all lol.

I just looked up Hikaru and Yui and I just remembered when I came across the Yui (Basic and Collectors) pics and thought to myself, that looks pretty nice. But like you said, it’s based on an animated design so I agree, the stylized approach works.

Yeah that Harry is something else :lol But of course I'm rooting for JND especially since they might take chances with female characters that get poor HT quality, or get skipped entirely by both HT and InArt. Having no neck seams will be neat lol. Lots of people like their new Harley statue so I hope they can keep improving with 1/6 likenesses too. Here's hoping they ship something 1/6 soon to give us all a better idea of how these preorders will turn out!
