JND Catwoman will make them look like play toys.. The disparity between them is great, IMO

Oh, I was referring to JazzInc’s Pfeiffer Catwoman.

I’m sitting out the JND figures / hyperrealistic customs. I have a fairly established collection of live action Batman figures across Hot Toys, Inart, and third party, and I don’t want to introduce a new, vastly more detailed line into the mix, and then feel like all my other figures suck and need to replace them. :lol

Sure, that’s one, singular detail, but what about all the other ones that are exceptionally done and haven’t been done to this degree ever before, for any character, from a company at the scale.

This Catwoman set is revolutionary, they shelled out for Louis Vuitton branding for crying out loud.

I agree, the suit needs refinement, but to expect anything better than this for an
$800-900 figure isn’t reality. You’re into customs as am I, you know the drill, we’ve paid well over this to complete a full custom figure.

Their Ledger Joker isn’t viewed that way because of the level customs have achieved, but those achievements cost money, and a decent amount of it. It’s not one complete package ready to go, we’re talking countless parts, countless shipping fees, PayPal fees.

I get what you’re saying bro I really do but my point is simply that all those things count for little if the main event is botched which for catwoman is her catsuit!

For $1800 I’d expect it to be absolutely spot on that’s all I’m saying, especially when it’s no rocket science and has been achieved by HT and even inArt in their proto

While I agree the upper torso on the JND figure isn’t right. Hot toys have not got it right at all. Their effort didn’t bodge the same area but it has loads of issues proportion wise. Both V1 & 2. And then it falls apart in a few years anyway. Not to mention the various ways this version can be manipulated without showing the very obvious joins and toy joints visible on the HT figures.

As for Inart, let’s see…. The elbow joint in their promo image is horrendous and we haven’t seen many photos to work out any potential issues yet. That one is not really worth comparing yet.

I’m pretty sure inArt will address the elbow. And after seeing the JND reveal they’ll probably work on their likeness and hair too - let’s see. They have a solid chance of making the best overall catsuit at a price that isn’t totally ridiculous

Nick D are you getting a cut from JND sales or something ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Haha… well I can understand why he’s batting for them

I too respect JND for their tech and agree with Nick on how they are truly taking the hobby forward

I’m just peeved JND is being so pompous with their reveal and pricing when there’s such a glaring error with the effort

You know, like it or love it, the deal is done.

We can discuss the inaccuracies, and drawbacks until forever, but nothing is going to change. The figure is what it is, the price is what it is - now it's just a personal choice, to buy it or not. If the figure isn't worth it for any particular person - then simply don't buy it. Unless you want to convince other people to see things the way you do, what's the point of the 'back and forth' debate.

We see this everytime a new release comes out, you get the tribes of for and against - arguing, insulting, getting stressed - and in the end, it's a damn display figure that sits in your display, probably never to be seen by anyone but you.

The great thing about this situation - is that there are choices (aside from the Maid and Airport outfit) - no one needs to accept JND's mistakes, or their pricing.

They got this detail correct on their 1:3,
it’s very odd to have been looked over here.

I wish people on FB would bring this detail to their attention because it should be corrected.

I still don’t know what my plans are regarding this set, I love the direction they’re taking things, it’s hard to say no.

I don’t plan on having a large collection at all and realism takes top priority for me and my collection. Having said that, I really don’t like much of Rises man. I loved the Wayne Manor and Batcave scenes along with Catwoman but the rest of the film, including Bane and Talia didn’t click with me after Ledger.

Really is a beautiful set. A special one at that. The whole package. It's still on my mind, even though my decision is final. I'll hold out for something else from JND.

I really hope they fix the seams on the catsuit. What a terrible shame it would be to ignore that after it's been pointed out. Such an obvious flaw in an otherwise "perfect" piece.

it's an "advanced" endo-skeleton - armature, that allows for a much more realistic movement.
It does work well in places. Still some kinks to iron out. Those wrist bends don't look natural.

As for the character,

I did revisit bits of Rises. It's been a while. The manor escape and ballroom scenes are among my favorites. But I find myself enjoying the material, and not so much the portrayal of her character. Although Anne embodies the role and delivers her lines well, I do think she's missing a certain charm. She comes across flat. She lacks charisma in my opinion. But I don't know if a different actress could have done more with the part. I'm not sure where the core of the problem lies.

I don’t believe it was the intention
for her to have charisma, or at least show it.

She sells the disinterested, rather be anywhere else, to manipulate you, purposely.

She hated the wealthy of Gotham, so it wouldn’t make sense to be charismatic around any of them for any longer than the bare minimum she needed to get what she was after.

I don't mean charisma in the way she performs. More like the "aura" she exudes. Heath had it, even when he was just sitting still.
Heath had it before the character though.

Hathaway isn’t the most interesting person in real life.

The talent just puts those existing traits into the spotlight. Such a good performance combined with the cutting edge prosthetics that at times you forget his entire bottom lip was silicone.

I think Rises is a good film just suffers from some seemingly rushed execution with some poor editing choices. Narratively I think it rounds out the story really well.
I somewhat agree. This film wasn't ready. It needed revisions, that could have made a world of difference.

There are traces of a great film. Some really good ideas. Great scenes. Just poor execution.

My feeling is.. Nolan didn't have his heart in the project. Perhaps he felt pressured internally. Obliged to wrap up a story he'd already invested 2 films into, that he didn't wish to abandon. Stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I don't know if he could have just walked out after The Dark Knight and left it there.

I don't think Nolan's interested in building franchises and doing sequels. He had to be convinced into coming back for The Dark Knight, and perhaps there was a novelty in exploring a journey beyond one film for the character. But then he put himself in a bind by doing that.

That's what I mean. It's not something that you can fake (or act). You either have it, or you don't. I'm not sure Hathaway does. But Heath certainly did.

I think he was always in for a trilogy to tell Bruce’s arc, except he had it planned out with Heath coming back for the third. Once that was out of the picture, it was a case of making something workable that still told the story he wanted to tell but you can tell there is an element of just wanting to be over with it in the final execution
