Hmmm, don't believe you, how much did the Yuan sculpt cost? Then how much did a body and clothing set cost? I don't believe it cost less that £1300.
Yuan and Heise are the most expensive. But I'm expecting a sculpt similar to the one Diostar posted that's closer to 400. Maybe not the highest level of paint work, but the overall result still beats JND's. By a landslide. Which leaves you with 600 to spend on the rest of the figure before you match the type A price point. That's plenty enough for a decent outfit (if we're comparing to JND, not aiming for perfection).

Now make the suit look as good as the sculpt ;)
Don't like the suit? It's the wonderworld set. Not perfect by any means, but I think it's pretty solid. Among the cheapest as well (though it's risen on the aftermarket)

You can put a great custom together for the cost of a single type A figure (or less).

John Wu's offering amazing work at a really good price. Best value I have seen in the space.
I did exactly that, Inart body and John headsculpt(under $1000 everything). Maybe not enough accurate to many people here but for me is the best solution and I'm happy with it 😅

That's an almost perfect sculpt. For me if I had that my pursuit for a perfect Heath would end with that head-wise. That's why for me spending more money on something that is objectively brilliant is worth it. How many times are people going to buy a whole figure then buy a new one then buy a new one never being satisfied. I don't know why companies can't get this level on limited runs.

But then, I'm still very happy with everything I'm getting in this release. For what they offer, it's the best I want from 1/6 all in one-package. Real glass eyes make a huge difference, being able to adjust fingers and neck seamlessly another.

Although I can imagine myself maybe still getting a Yuan. Depends on what JND's next offering looks like with this Joker. Otherwise I'm all jonkered out. I much prefer JND doing films like Oldboy etc. That's where I'd like to move my collection next.

With the Wonderland suit, eh. It's not looking incredible to me, there's a couple of custom one's I've seen around Instagram that look great. For me, JND is the best looking from a company.

Would love to see a colour picture of that Yuan, how much was it altogether?

Yuan's prototype of this particular sculpt is absolutely gorgeous (see below with the wonderworld set)

I do have nitpicks with mine. But I know I wouldn't be 100% satisfied unless I learned, and could pull off doing this myself. I can't ask more from Yuan. He's done a tremendous job. And I'm OCD as hell.

While I don't think JND (or any company for that matter) can compete with their purple coat, I'm eager to see them do a Bank Robber figure. That could be tempting. Silicone mask. Rooted hair. Glass eyes. Count me in.

They can seriously fill a gap with a figure like that.

^Nah it isn't that great. No but seriously why can't you ***** stay in the Joker customs thread where you belong? This thread is about the JND Joker and you are off topic - again.

Mate, I asked him.

We're discussing JND in direct comparison with customs, because the topic is the level of worth you're getting from the company compared to similar priced items of the same character. Couldn't be more on topic.

Go outside and chill for a bit, getting this riled up about topics...

Awww someone is triggered 🫠🫠🫠🫠

Cool it bud. JND is trying to rival custom joker level quality, it’s completely in topic

We might as well just prefix every comment in every thread with ‘Customs are better’ since that’s pretty much always going to be the case.

That way we’ll never risk anyone forgetting that the custom crowd make the best decisions with their money.

So comparing to Inart is okay but comparing to customs isn't?

Saying Inart is better than Hot Toys when it's more expensive isn't a similar comparison to spending more money on something for better quality?

Haven't seen a compelling reason not to discuss JND Joker with custom items that cost a similar amount and are closest to quality given by JND.

The amount of modification discussions in other threads about another companies release is considerably more discussed than anything going on here.

Drama where there doesn't need to be drama... Not to mention some people discussing customs are actually buying the JND set. I'd rather see discussion in the JND Joker thread that is in relation to those figures, instead of the usual crap that people 'discuss' of shitting on the release or company.

I'm just being facetious.

But I would prefer the JND piece actually releases so we can get an in depth look at it before it's condemned as overpriced garbage.

I guess for some of us, our goal with collecting doesn't boil down to favoring one company's product over another.. but having the best representation that we can possibly attain (within budget, resources, ability).

The prevailing assumption is that the custom crowd is full of elitists who like to distinguish themselves apart, because they can't appreciate that others collect with a different approach in mind.

In reality, this is a crowd that's shunned by the rest, because this tolerance isn't shown the other way around.

Even if there was truth to these assumptions... eventually, one extremist side begets another. And in the context of dolls, it's a painful reminder of how childish people can be.

I just do what I enjoy.

I appreciate you being level headed about this @GaryPool

I don't know why @Chopper Face is getting up in arms, considering he has the inclination to customize / heavily mod every figure he gets, pointing to all the ways that improvements can be made. Something I can appreciate.

I'm sure I speak for a handful of others. I'm passionate about the character and the source material. I'm a stickler for the finer details. I derive enjoyment from the hobby through giving it my attention and that includes enhancing any given piece closer to my preference.

I'm also happy to discuss and guide others who share a similar mindset in any capacity that I can.

Because sometimes a singular attempt / interpretation (and the limitations imposed through the process of production) don't yield a perfect figure.

But more power to those who are happy. Because that's all that matters.

Only if they were, they wouldn't go heckling others all the time.

Afraid it's you who's in the wrong place @Vortex
