Every time I see I bump I get excited thinking finally a review of the figure...
I think you’ve just missed the humorous approach I took to all my comments on the previous page.I guess for some of us, our goal with collecting doesn't boil down to favoring one company's product over another.. but having the best representation that we can possibly attain (within budget, resources, ability).
The prevailing assumption is that the custom crowd is full of elitists who like to distinguish themselves apart, because they can't appreciate that others collect with a different approach in mind.
In reality, this is a crowd that's shunned by the rest, because this tolerance isn't shown the other way around.

Even if there was truth to these assumptions... eventually, one extremist side begets another. And in the context of dolls, it's a painful reminder of how childish people can be.
I just do what I enjoy.
I appreciate you being level headed about this @GaryPool
I don't know why @Chopper Face is getting up in arms, considering he has the inclination to customize / heavily mod every figure he gets, pointing to all the ways that improvements can be made. Something I can appreciate.

I'm sure I speak for a handful of others. I'm passionate about the character and the source material. I'm a stickler for the finer details. I derive enjoyment from the hobby through giving it my attention and that includes enhancing any given piece closer to my preference.
I'm also happy to discuss and guide others who share a similar mindset in any capacity that I can.
Because sometimes a singular attempt / interpretation (and the limitations imposed through the process of production) don't yield a perfect figure.
But more power to those who are happy. Because that's all that matters.
Only if they were, they wouldn't go heckling others all the time.
Afraid it's you who's in the wrong place @Vortex
Gotcha.I think you’ve just missed the humorous approach I took to all my comments on the previous page.
Re-read in a flippant, sarcastic South London accent and bam, you’ll get me.
We’re talking about big boy toys.Gotcha.
So how do we know when you're being serious?
It is for VortexWe’re talking about big boy toys.
It’s never that serious.
Watch out, you’re going off topic again.JND's new squid game statue looks unreal...
That's the standard to hold them up against.

I want people to get enjoyment out of any figure they may be interested in purchasing. As far as I can tell nobody on this forum has this figure in hand to give their fair take on it. None of the trusted reviewers have it yet either. Yes - things aren't looking promising thus far from the limited resources we have.It is for Vortex

I'd like to think most people on here are aware of the custom scene - especially when it comes to Heath Ledger Joker because he has been perhaps the top custom 1/6 figure of all time. As I mentioned in another thread with a laughing emoji thing provided by Collector Freaks this trip has been going on for 15 years.
Simply put "we know."
The thing about Ledger Joker is one custom doesn't really do it does it because he has so many looks. Sometimes you couldn't even tell it was Heath Ledger under the grease paint at all and he even won a Oscar because of it. How many different major and minor variations of the makeup does he have anyway? Real question.
I dunno perhaps I am old school when it comes to this forum because I remember when members had to set up specific threads when they wanted to do major modifications to a figure. See: https://www.collectorfreaks.com/thr...tomization-for-the-dx12-batman-figure.119064/
And then you had the Customs section.
Granted back then the forum was a lot more active so maybe you're correct Scout in that I don't belong here anymore. I'm holding onto the old ways.
TBF though Maglor's thread up there holds a lot of valuable if now dated information that can be found in one place if one so chooses to search for it. It is a handy guide as are all of the posts in the Custom section. Again I guess it's about being on topic because talks of Customs may get lost elsewhere.
Some people, I would guess most - just want to purchase their favorite mass produced figure and be done with it. I'm not sure the Custom market is even the same hobby.
^Yeah Gary democracy says I should let it go so I'm going to do just that. No hard feelings I hope
No hard feelings, but now you must say what your favourite custom Joker sculpt is and explain why in at least 100 words, as penance.
You’d be hard pressed to find someone from Collector Freaks who has never customized or wanted to customize / build something from the ground up.
Remind me who are these topics for that they
have to be on such a rail?
First thing you hear in a new Batman Hot Toys thread, links to capes, when they’re available.
Are the proportions correct,
if not how to shift them or swap the body entirely.
So in your fifteen years here, you’ve tolerated customs by the droves, never participated but still somehow mad, but apparently not enough to stop joining in the conversation? You almost got me to bite.

If you don’t like the mention of customs why would you put yourself through fifteen years of them, prominently viewable through both sites. I’d just click PO and watch YouTube videos at that point.
